I want to experiment with making a small change to the standard saw waveform.

What I want to do is basically slightly soften the triangle point at the top/bottom of the saw wave, but when I run it through a saturation module it lifts up the diagonal line, then with extreme saturation turns it into a square, I want it to be more 'sine like'.

    Any pointers?

f.i.use a filter (see example in manual for saw).

What about slight morph between saw and sine waveforms? But if you want to modify saw wave in described way, yes, use a filter.

Thanks guys. But now I want to make a feedback osc a bit like on the jp8080.

I setup a feedback loop with a unit delay but whenever I went above 1 for the mixer level it would reach inifinte volume and I have to sitch reactor off then on.

for feedback ways you must be shure to always multiply the back feeded signal with values smaller than 1 (so it gets a litte smaller). Thats how it is done in delays...

But I do not know, how to set up an feedbak oscillator in that way....

Ahh... less than 1, right. Thanks, I didn't know that.

Does anyone know how Roland's feedback oscillator works? Is it... a kind of karplus-strong synthesis thing? Tuned delays? If so... what's the initial (pre-feedback) signal?
