Does upgrading to TP2 change the X1 mapping?
Appreciate we'd benefit from an updated mapping file but for now just want to make sure I won't lose the existing functionality? I use timecode so it's just Hotcues and Effects I'm worried about at the moment.

Good point. Though now I've thought about it I might just get something simpler, like an LPD8 for the sample decks though. Would be cheaper! :)

    short and to the point!
    ---

Midi mapping is actually pretty easy. Its a matter of getting used to it. I had to learn mine the hard way, by playing around with each control map until I got used to it. Sure I used other DJ's maps, but I never felt more appreciative until I learned and mapped my own midi. I have a Numark Total Control midi and the Traktor Kontrol X1. I found the mapping pic on Native's website that actually show the numbered buttons and the corresponding controls. I am looking for the same thing with the TKX1. that make s life soooooo much easier to map!

I agree, I do find it quite simple, it just takes time to get your map right. There's so much info out there on how to do it. I started out just doing my input mappings. Playing about with settings until I got them to do what I wanted. Then I started looking at outputs and the more advanced stuff.

Start simple and build on it.

Has anyone mapped an X1 to run decks a&b and also the sample decks as well, all on one kontroller? dont really want to be carrying 2 X1s for traveling etc. Really could do this mapping

Bump for an official mapping switchable between decks and sample decks. Kind of stupid to incorporate such features in the new Traktor without first making the already X1 owners happy. No way most are buying another X1 just for samples...

talkin abt Midi mapping, do i have to open the Control Editor so that the Midi mapping is working? cuz all the knobs and buttons works fine when i do the midi mapping, but that's when the Control Editor is open, once i close it, the midi wont work on TSP2. (i do the midid mapping with TSP2 open all the time)

It's intended for decks C&D only (because it also changes the deck type) but I uploaded a beta version to DJTT to control normally A&B like the original map and be able to switch focus to C&D in sample mode. It's the same mapping essentially but some tweaking needs to be done.

    http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27776

If you control transport, looping, etc via another mean then just download the one I linked earlier.

Please leave any feedback either there or via PM here since I don't this thread often. I'm actually looking for people to test this alternative version since it doesn't fit in my setup.

I'm thinking of releasing the final version of this controlling FX units 1&2 (vs 3&4 in the actual version) but this depends on how many people request it.

PS: I skipped mapping the loop recorder because you would need both C&D to be in sample mode and in focus to have both encoders available, that's why they are unmapped in the current version.
