    Hi
I've noticed that the sound I get from a VST plug-in or a standalone Instrument is lacking the punch of any preset when I play it on the Komplete Kontrol keyboard. When I use the mouse to trigger the keyboard on the VST, the presets sound is fuller louder and has better bite. There's a noticeable difference in the overall sound is there something in the setup I can do so the sound matches.
    Thanks Bill

Try opening KK and under the Komplete Kontrol tab at the top go to "Preferences" then "General", click on the "Hardware" tab. At the top should be a setting for Keyboard "Velocity Scaling". This worked for me as I thought the velocity settings were way weaker than my other keyboard.

    Hope that helped.

I had the same problem, I had to hit the keys really hard when playing to get to full velocity. I used a midi monitor to check the data stream while I adjusted the velocity curves to get a decent full scale reading with my playing style.

BTW just to chime in - I found the same problem on my S61.

Try the 'Soft' curves (which make everything more sensitive).

This worked for me thanks so much there was no punch and the sounds being triggered sounded wimpy. The velocity set to Hard 2 made it come alive. Thanks again.

Update I made a mistake in my 1st reply. I set the velocity to Fixed this seemed to work best for me.

You realize fixed removes all dynamics? This makes the keyboard trigger all notes at the same volume. Instead you should just turn the volume up on your amplifier if your output to your speakers or headphones are too low.

Not sure "Turning the volume up" is really a fix - then you end up with a loud version of the 'soft' sound from whatever synth you're using rather than affecting the dynamics and the sounds generated. It'd be a bit like playing a Rhodes softly and turning up the amplifier to try to get the classic 'growl' sound you get when you play it hard. It's just not going to work.

Changing the response curve is surely the proper way to do it, or use a MIDI expander plugin in whatever DAW is being used to increase the dynamic range of the generated notes.

I agree with Mikes last post turning the Volume up is not the answer. alheeren had the right solution. Like I said in my original post. When I play my Komplete Keyboard the sound was weak but when I took my mouse and played the Keyboard in Kontakt it was stronger. I guess it not so much the volume but the dynamics the "Velocity Scaling". fixed this and sound came alive. Simple little fix that worked great.
