Weird CPU behavior

    I've been running Reaktor 4 on my 500 mhz tibook under OS 10.2.6. Really great results.

    Finally get it going on my desktop machine, dual 533 mhz, and the damn thing maxes out under even moderately demanding ensembles. Gobox doesn't even make my tibook breath heavy, but my desktop machine keeps getting tripped up. Forget about something like Scenario. What is up?

    What OS is the desktop machine running? How much RAM on each?

    the desktop machine, G4 dual 533, is also running system 10.2.6. both machines (tibook and tower) have 512 meg of ram.

    Try opening up the terminal and typing 'top'. Perhaps you have something running in the background eating up CPU?
