So after a full 12 months NI release a traktor update that changes some colours...round of applause to the dev team who must have worked all hours to do that...cheers for the lack of support of my XDJ 1000 mk2s that after a year i still cant use with the software i paid hundreds of pounds for...Rekordbox is the only solution even though ive been a huge advocate of Native Instruments for many many years....

    I feel your pain. I'm a XDJ 1000 mk2s owner too:(

A full year for some colors is completely and utterly ridiculous! Looks like NI devs team are enjoying their new box of crayons:rolleyes:

I was really hoping that this update would’ve supported the xdj 1000. Mk2. It’s a major let down. The good news is that pioneer dj rekordbox 5.0 is a big improvement!

If you think about it, it should be clear that Traktor will never support the xdj 1000 from the manufacturer.
Neither Pioneer a Traktor controller or NI a Rekordbox controller!

Seriously, it would be so that Apple offer iOS on Samsung phones or Samsung Android on iPhones in the future.

Please start to think, at least a bit.

Edit: had never hand on a xdj, but it seems to run completely over midi.
If it is so important to you, why do not you make yourself a mapping!? Or download once over djtt???

@RobFreeman, better first get your facts straight before replying here ....

XDJ 1000 = fully HID compatible with Traktor! (Google it. Or watch )
XDJ 1000 MK2 = NOT compatible with Traktor

For some reason Pioneer decided not to include the HID communications in the firmware. They could have used the existing HID integration that is already present for the MK1 version, at least as far as the buttons/functions are still the same. After all: HID is only a mapping of hardware to software. No need to be angry with NI for this. Pioneer changed the interface; Pioneer can fix it. But maybe Pioneer would rather like you to use Rekordbox DJ instead?

Yeah I knew that. I was just *hoping* for some kind of miracle. The sad thing is to see how little effort NI put into Traktor development, especially in the past year. It would be sooo easy for them to implement the MK2 mapping( come on now, it cant be that different from the mk1).

And how exactly would you know this for a fact?

Edit: Let me rephrase. How do you know for a fact that the broken HID compatibility is 100% Pioneer's fault?

Over Pioneer DJ's forum their employees are telling a different story..

@Double Deck , why are you pointing the finger at NI? HID is nothing more than a communication protocol, telling the software when a button is pushed or a knob turned. Pioneer for some reason decided to change the protocol. What could that reason be? How many new features are on the MK2 version that need a new protocol instead of using the exsisting one?

Analoge to this forum: what if I decide to continue this discussion in Dutch or Chinese? Would you need to learn my language, or would you ask me to write in english again?

Again: Pioneer changed the "language", while there was no reason to do so. So Pioneer should provide the "translation". I'm sure NI would be willing to put it in their software.

@djpipw : what did Pioneer answer when you asked them about integration in Traktor?

they didnt reply....much like NI but at least they have software that works with my kit and release updates frequently rather than just sample packs and stems that only 5% of their customers will ever use :)

My contacts at Pioneer have also said that there have been no changes to HID in the XDJ-1000mk2 and that it's up to NI to put it into a Traktor update.

Where did you get the info about Pioneer "changing the language" for HID?

Of course they didn't! Why pioneer would remove HID from the XDJ 1000 MK2 firmware..?

What NI has to say about this?

    @frankle

Pioneer didn't change anything. Sussudio 'facts' are baseless, unless he can back up his claims of course.

The strange thing is, Pioneer responds saying they didn't change or remove HID support?
But also saying that The Mk2 doesn't support HID?
    So which is it?
Because if I bought an updated version of the S8 hardware and it no longer supported Windows 10, I'm pretty sure that Microsoft would not be the issue, It would be NI. Obviously leaving something out or not updating to the newest drivers or whatever.
Same as Pioneer suddenly not supporting or at least taking steps to make sure the release of this hardware still had the compatibility?
I don't see NI taking steps to lock out a new version of an already supported hardware?
Especially if the only update in a year to the software is colors? So instead they are taking away compatibility?
    Me thinking out loud here.
I could be wrong but, I would sway more towards Pioneer being behind the lack of support.
