    Hi,
I recently purchased Kore and just purchased Komplete 4, which I added to an already rather large VIs outfit.
Though I love NI's products, I never considered purchasing one until now (this "summer offer" was irresistible), because of a very simple reason: NI's authorization procedure is at best a nightmare, and I've read several horror stories about it not working at all.

So, why don't you just offer to your customers the option of using a dongle in order to have their software straightforwardly up and running and on as many computers as they own (though not at the same time, of course)?
I know that several people hate dongles, but believe me, when it comes to expensive software, there's not a better way for the company to protect their rights and for the customer to manage several licenses on several computers.

I'm a Mac user since the very first model Apple released, and, as you might know, the Mac is not a computer that requires gimmicks and prayers to work; nonetheless, whenever a problem has occurred with my hardware, I blessed the software houses which went for the dongle as their anti piracy protection.

    Any chance?

Yes. Let's have a dongle, an iLok would be fine.
I am having trouble with the Service Center during updating at the moment. I would feel much more secure if my product was just authorized on an iLok rather than this Service Center mess.

    bring on the dongles

I agree, current registration is not dependable or reliable. Give customers the choice of Service Centre or a dongle. I'd welcome an ilok option. Then I could upgrade my OS or computer without wondering whether my registrations will evaporate.

    Possible license agreement/length

I've wondered the exact same thing. I'm waiting right now to get my EWQL stuff reactivated as I've changed harddrives. Often a company will buy a product/license and will use it until the end of the budget cycle for that product. Even if it smells like a piece of !@#$, cuz after all, it's paid for! Or perhaps they're making a deal w/ another co. @ the moment. But I too would like to know if they are planning on axing the notorious "NI Service Center".
