what do I need for FM8 full features when buying kore 2 ?

I noticed that (just to keep it simple) Kore 2 houses the FM8 engine. Now looking at FM8 in itself, I like the features it has of the 4 morph pad setup, etc. But with the preset effects built in to Kore 2, can I actually view the FM8 controls as if I purchased just FM8 as a stand alone?

What is hinging on this question will tie in to if I should purchase

    - Maschine / Kore 2 with controller (and maybe FM8 depending on the answer above?)
    - Komplete6 / Kore 2 with controller

I would love to have the functionality of Maschine but If I need Komplete6 to get in to the detail of what Kore2 combines I will have to hold off on getting all 3 on my initial purchase.

    thanks in advance!

You won't be able to open the FM8 GUI without actually owning FM8 itself, same goes for Reaktor, Massive, GR, Absynth. So other than the preprogrammed Kore sound variations you won't be able to edit the sounds in your own way.

You need the full FM8 to open and edit the patches but if all you want is to morph presets then you can do that from Kore using Kore's own morphing grid. FM8 patches created for Kore will have the relevant controls set up to enable this.

    thanks for the perspective!

Looks like I'll have to get all 3 then! :D

I just don't see using half of what comes in Komplete6 but the price is hard to ignore due to wanting at least Battery3 and FM8, might as well just get komplete.

Do you find that the pre-determined controls that Kore 2 attaches to for the FM8 sounds will suffice or do you find times wanting to do more in FM8/FM7, etc. (that is if you have them)

    thanks again and happy holidays!

That is very subjective and only you can answer. Isn't there a Kore demo to download and therefore show exactly how it integrates with the FM8 or any other VSTI?

In my opinion, NI does a good job making the more important BASIC controls available. But again, if you are that curious, I would download the demo.
