This thread got me thinking about my old home studio

Wish I had a picture of it from 1990:
Atari 1040ST running SMPTE Track for sequencer
    Tascam 1/2" 8 track
    Casio DAT
    16 channel Tascam board
    Korg DSS1
    2- Korg Poly 800
    Yamaha DX7
    Sequential Circuits Pro One
    Roland Octa Pad
Korg drum machine (can't remember the model number)
and a rack full of reverbs, compressors, delays and so forth
Plus a few guitars and basses

All of that gear filling the room and now the stuff fills a desktop and is more flexible with many more sounds available;)

I'm with you on that! I use to have a room full of gear and now everything I do is inside the PC except my guitars and turntable. I don't think I could go back to a all hardware studio.

Updated the studio after a basement flood. Decided to go with a new Macbook Pro and sold off the iMac.

    Setup:
2.2 i7 15" macbook pro with 6TB of storage for samples and other goodies
    23" Samsung LED monitor
    Apogee Duet 2
    Maschine
X1 with TP2 - I like mixing my own beats into other songs
    KRK 6 LE with stands
    Ableton Suite 8.xx with Launchpad
    Axiom Pro 49
iMaschine on the pad and phone

    Next: Treatment

Very nice. Although your monitor placement seems kind of weird.

    Thanks,

Lack of space I guess. You'll also see that my KRK's shouldn't be on floor. Active studio monitors should be at ear level, again lack of space. My equipment is out growing the room.

Is the lighting making the gold look chrome, or are those really Sextetts down on the bottom right?

    My slice of Heaven

    Hey guys!

I've been visiting the forum for a few months now and these studio picture threads are my favorite thing ever. I recently signed up and thought I'd share my slice of heaven.

One in a while I let the Studio 440 out, it's like a weekend cruiser.

Holy S**t! Where did you find the Studio 440? I've been looking for one of those for about 3 years now. I made 4 singles with that joint back in the early 90's. My dude Backspin also made records with that joint, he's the one that introduced it to me. Very hard to come by on Craigslist.

Incredible little machine, can't really be compared to anything else. I've only had it 3 days. It can be very deep if you want to go that route, sooooo many routing mods and parameters. I bought it off Ebay (B stock). You can't upload samples, but there are several nice one shots built in to mix with the analog osc's. Really well built and inspirational. The FX sliders pretty much force you to get creative. Lovin' it!

I've had it set as a saved search on EBay for about 3 years. One finally popped up in great condition. It has SCSI Zip drive, latest OS, Resonance mod on the pan knob, and I replaced the foam pads. Only issue is the LCD is a dim, it's there, but dim. Forat says he can replace it. I saw it and had to snatch it up, "you never know when you might see one again" is what I was thinking. Sexy machine man, closest thing sound wise is the Emax rack, cheaper too. To tell you the truth if I could only have one 12bit sampler it would be the Emax. But, the Studio 440 is fun to work on since it has a sequencer and can sequence external gear, and you can route audio through it at the variable Khz and use it like a 12bit effect box.
