What do you use the novation zero for? I am planning on using it for cubase, but I am not quite sure yet.

Hi, I use it mainly for some VST(i). I like to control filters with faders (and all that can be automated), and also some values like threshold of some limiters/compressors that are easier to set like that.

I don't use the HUI mode to control mixers etc, because I have been conditionned to use the mouse during... almost 16 years before I got the Zero SL MK II.

Many people use controllers to control DAW volumes, mutes etc, but I just can't get myself to do that (a matter a habit). I like it the way it is, ie, on demand automation on synths and controlling some effects.

For automating volumes, mutes, EQ values, etc, I am more used to use the mouse. It is faster in my own workflow.

Works very well in Cubase (I used cubase also for many years, I just switched to Studio One v2, where it works good too).

It finds parameters automatically, but you have to assign them yourself to the desired fader/knob if you want that each parameter is exactly where you want it to be. So it is time consuming to do at first. Then you save presets for each vsti and backup it so it can be used and re-used.
The input for expression pedal doesn't work well with an M Audio expression pedal (it is probably the pedal, that is probably only for m audio gear)

updated setup....i pretty much use Maschine for its sounds and kits.I sample them into my MPC and make my own kits....i like Maschine but im a old school MPC head i just like the work flow of the MPC and like being able to save and store my kits with ez thats all i really care about but in Maschine you got like 5 or 6 steps just to do that....so when they update it i will dust it off and give it a try again...until then im still using my MPC and if the new Renaissance have that same work flow as My 2000xl then its a wrap!

Finally got comfortable enough on Maschine to put the MPC away . Another huge reason I went Maschine only was getting Komplete 8, that combo is no joke .
