ahh, to be honest i haven't looked at this since i posted it.

i've actually been working a lot lately on an NES game in my spare time, which i guess is probably not what you guys want to hear!

i also have been re-building automato from the ground up, so you can re-size the grid and do intelligent key changes and that sort of thing.

i had this idea too, but didn't pan out with the implementation i chose.

    good idea!

i'll try to build it so it changes to a 'nearby' key as far as the circle of 4ths/5th is concerned

yeah, that'll have to be a snapshot

hmm, that kind of betrays the concept of a harmonic hex grid. how would they be setup? right now you can easily access the 5th, major 3rd, and minor 3rd of any note.

doesn't this already exist, or am i misunderstanding you?

Yeh, I guess it does sort of betray the hex grid mode, was thinking of a quantize function to force it, but I'm probably misunderstanding how the harmonic hex grids work.

When the steps reach the edge of the interface, they just disappear. Was thinking if you could make them so once they reach the edge, they get reversed back into the matrix...

oh, i guess there could be a preset that had them all set that way, but otherwise it'd be a pretty ugly hack.

Yeh! I understand better now. My idea doesn't really make sense since you already can achieve this another way! Wasn't thinking clearly :)
