What I (Personally) Would Like In GR6

    1) Better amp response. Better dynamics and "3D-ness" to the amp sounds. Something I really hate is the hissing and random popping noises I often get, even when I'm on very low gain. The overall sound emulation of the amps isn't bad, but could use an update that includes these fixes. In my opinion, the flatness of the sound and the incessant popping and hissing are probably my biggest pet peeves with GR5, which is still great software despite this.

    2) More amps. I love the huge number of cabs (27?) and there's already some great classic amps included, but more amp heads is always better. Some that I would personally like to see are Selmers, Diezel (I speak for a lot of people when I say this one), some older Mesa Boogies (Mark I, II, Trem O Verb, Randall, Riviera, etc.

    3) Lots of pedals. As many as possible. Even weird or obscure ones, lots of us like playing with unusual ones to make some really interesting sounds. Others that I'd really love are the ZVex Fuzz Factory (really great fuzz pedal imo, tons of tonal options), Klon Centaur, Swollen Pickle, some Death By Audio pedals, the list is endless. I also want to mention the Small Clone chorus pedal specifically, because it's consistently ranked one of the best chorus effects out there, and it's got a really classic sound that's hard to replicate with other choruses.

    4) An updated Rig Kontrol. The one I have now is good (I have the RK 2) and it serves its purpose, but could use an update. One of the things I like most about it is how portable and durable it is- I've done shows with it, dropped it by accident, stepped all over it billions of times, and it still works perfectly. One thing I really wouldn't want in an updated Rig Kontrol is for it to be made into this massive device- a lot of us love it because it's light and easy to carry, so having to lug an unnecessarily large and bulky RK would definitely make me consider buying a better MIDI footswitch. One thing I'd really love to see in an update to Rig Kontrol is a better display. As of now, all I see is the preset number I'm on. For me, that doesn't do anything. The most essential and crucial part of a footswitch screen is to tell you know which preset you're on, so having it say the name of the preset would be really nice. In my opinion, the lack of a better display screen makes other competitors look a lot more enticing. I've also noticed that it can be hard to see the display screen while performing seeing as its currently pretty small and not that bright. I used it outside once and the display was unreadable so I had to hope I was on the right preset because it just showed the number and I could barely read the number anyway. That being said, my Rig Kontrol has otherwise always been reliable. While I (and pretty much everyone else seeking an updated and improved RK) would love for the preset name to be displayed, I want to add that I really wouldn't want a ton of menus or tabs on the screen. My friend uses a Line 6 footswitch and he absolutely HATES how he has to scroll through a billion menus and tabs to edit and modify a preset. I've watched him use it, and I can see how frustrating it is. The key here is simplicity- we just want something that does its job and is reliable, which is why so many of us love Rig Kontrol. Looking at mine right now, there's definitely room to make the screen bigger without having to make the rest of RK bigger. If you do decide to add menus to the RK display screen, please make them for contrast, brightness and general display options rather than for preset parameters. Making a better display screen is a small update, but would make a huge difference in the overall feel and performance of the RK. Other than that, I really don't have any other suggestions, it's a good product as is. But a bigger and better screen would make a huge difference.

    5) GIVE US INFO TO THE STATUS OF GUITAR RIG. This is what we want most of all. There's thousands (millions, maybe) of GR users that absolutely love the Guitar Rig software and at the moment, not a single one of us has a clue as to the status of Guitar Rig. There have been entire threads dedicated to people trying to figure out what's going on and why GR just disappeared. People have actually started petitions dedicated to bringing about the release of GR6, or at the minimum an updated GR5 with more features added. If we're being kept in the dark deliberately for marketing or promotional reasons, I can personally testify that it just annoys everyone. It doesn't add hype, it doesn't make me want it more. It makes me- and a lot of other GR users- think GR has been discontinued. If you want to spend as much time as possible getting the update right I get that, but at least tell us that you're actually working on an update to Guitar Rig. What's happened is people haven't heard anything about an update, so they give up and go buy a different product. By waiting and keeping everyone in the dark, fewer people will end up buying the new Rig Kontrol or Guitar Rig because they've given up and already bought a different product. If you look through the forum, you'll find a thread entitled "What happened to this place?" or something like that. A ton of us really miss the community on here. It's still here, but it's pretty dormant because we haven't heard anything from NI about GR in a really long time. All we're asking for is something- anything- saying Native Instruments is still working on Guitar Rig. It could just be a 1 sentence post or email saying "GR6 in progress." That's all we're asking for. So what I want to see in a Guitar Rig 6 is an actual Guitar Rig 6. PLEASE TELL US WHAT'S GOING ON. I love Guitar Rig, and so do a ton of other people. Please continue making Guitar Rig, and please release a GR update ASAP.

    Forgot to add this-
For the new Rig control, please add small windows/screens next to each of the buttons so we know what they're controlling. It shows up in the GR window on the computer, but it would be amazing if it was displayed on the actual RK as well. The display for each button would change with each preset.
What would also be really great was if you had the tuner displayed- with the current RK, you can't see a tuner so you have to go back to your laptop/computer, which is kind of annoying. You could have a small tuner button in addition to the preset switches, or you could have the option of setting a preset switch as a tuner on/off switch where you go into tuner mode. Every guitarist in the world has the same standard Boss Tuner pedal, so having that integrated into the new Rig Kontrol would be awesome. These are just 2 very small suggestions that would make a tremendous difference in making RK more user-friendly and integrative with the computer software so it's not just a simple board with on/off preset switches (although those are great too). Please add these features! :)
