Hello, Could anyone tell me what is Phase Alignment?

I know that is related to velocity crossfade, but if I have several Velocity Layers how I can make the phase Alignment with them?

Thank you very much for the help.
    Sorry my english :S

    Regards

Phase alignment simply means that two waveforms are perfectly aligned in phase constantly. Check this post:

In your sax library, waveforms aren't perfectly phase aligned, and this produces some artifacts when sweeping the crossfade with CC11 using equal-power crossfade script. You'll need to edit your samples to phase align them.

Interesting! How do you do that editing? When I understand you correctly, all the Highs and Lows of the waveform must be in sync. Wouldn't that be impossible for a natural instruments sample? I have never seen an option in a wave editor, that would allign two samples in that way ... where can you do that? Wav lab? (I am waiting for the new version for mac right now).
Also: Is this what they did at sample modelling?

No, highs and lows don't have to be the same. If the same tone of a certain instrument is sampled, then all the zero-crossings have to be aligned perfectly.

Yeah, but doesn't that also imply, that all ups and downs of amplitude to happen at the same time? Not exactly the same shape of course, but more or less synchronous ...

Well, if it's the same frequency of the tone, and the phase is the same, then yeah. Although the amplitudes don't necessarily need to BE of the same value.
