    Hey fellas!

At what volume should the input be? I can crank it up inside guitar rig up to +20db but I wonder what the purpos of that is?

Of course it should never reach the red clipping area. So am I right to assume that optimal input is when it barely is about to touch the red area on very loud parts? Or should I always keep it at lets say -6db?

If input volume is too high there is barely a "quiet" moment in the sound.
If the volume is too low the distortion does not kick in as wanted.

What are your thoughts on that?

Thank you a lot in advance!
