Mind if I ask what causes these mixes not to be taken down by Soundcloud because of legal/permission issues?

This topic is a prime example of reckless stupidity of everyone offering mixes for download.

    I said this before.
if you want your mixes to be heard and want to stay out of trouble,
either use mixcloud.com, letsmix.com or at least disable, like some have done, the download feature of the mixes on soundcloud.

The funny thing is, that by randomly visiting some of the links posted, there are tons of mixes to be downloaded, but only a minority wanted to make their own music available for free.
So it`s ok to share other people`s compositions in a mix or bootlegs, but not your own as a single download?

Heh, that's the main reason why I chose to disable downloading in the first place. If they want to hear the mix, they can just listen to the SoundCloud upload via SoundCloud. If they want to hear the individual songs, well the songs are cited, but that's the only help I'm giving them.

    Anyway: http://www.soundcloud.com/djyukkuri

I'm currently playing around with various genres, but what they all have in common is that I mainly discovered them through Japanese artists.
I guess I'm just interested in bringing some of the sounds of the East over to the West.

So is it all about making a D.j. mix downloadable ?
I guess mentioning the playlist giving the artists some credit would work good on both sides.
I never had any complaints about copyrigths, althougt my mixes where freely downloadable, nor have i mentioned any playlist.

To be honest, I have no clue. I mainly disabled downloading because of the whole distribution issue. Since I didn't produce the tracks myself, it would feel unethical for me to actually make them downloadable, even if they're still strung into a single set. If I produced all the tracks myself, I'd gladly make it downloadable, but that's currently not the case.

As a result, I choose to use SoundCloud as a showcase of my abilities rather than the distribution of tracks. Unless it's a song that I created from the ground up, or a mix of songs that I created from the ground up, you're not going to be able to download anything from my page.

    Hey guys,

I can see that you are all recording your mixes, and they sound great! I am having major issues getting my mix recordings to be high quality! I am using 2 Technics 1200s, TSP on my macbook pro, an Audio 8 DJ and a DDM4000 mixer.

I connect from my DDM4000's output A into the Audio 8 DJ channel C, and get a strong signal but when I play back the mix it is

    1. Super quiet
    2. Somewhat muffled, like you can tell there are different frequencies missing from the tune.

What is the culprit for this? When I turn up my gains and volume levels the recording comes out louder, but in excruciatingly bad quality. Is the Behringer DDM4000 to blame?

How are you guys recording such crisp sounding mixes?

Me either. In fact, I've gotten props from some of the artist on my mixes whose music was in the mix. I've always understood it to be the nature of the mix-tape game. Hot DJ's make mixes with artist music in it, the mixtape spreads like wildfire, and the artist gets lots of exposure. You wanna sell the mix-tape on the other hand, different ball-game.
