What ist the best Way to reinstall TDJ?

Hi. I have recently Problems with freezing of TDJ when using the App. It's not caused by capacity Problems of my IPAD: So I want to erase the app, an reinstall it. But of course don't want to loose my Playlist and Cue points. What ist the most efficient way? Thank You for Your help.Michael

 

are you sure a reinstall will solve the freezing ?
.. always thinking about iPad iOS reasons ? .. or maybe test first to disconnect and reconnect iCloud access first (iPad seetings) ?

If you are sure only a reinstall can solve .. then here the workflow what I would do (assuming you are using latest TDJ version?):
- Go into icloud/TraktorDJ folder and copy the collection.mnl.gz to a safe place on your PC/Mac (this is the backup of all meta data)
- then make a new TDJ deinstall, restall again
- after new reinstall: restore the saved collection via TraCoMerger (you need a Windows PC for this)

you will lose the playlists with workflow above, but at least the meta data (grid,hotcues,bpm,key) of the songs are not lost

 

Hi Kalo, thank You for Your Reply. Of course I am not sure, if it will solve the problem. But TDJ works great for months. Never had Problems. But since 2 Months it freezes. With or without my Kontrol S2 MK II. I did not install any other apps or update the IOS, only added new songs. My actual IOS is 10. (Never change a running Systhem ;-) on my IPAD Pro 9.7.

 

understand. So maybe go the way to make a backup of your TDJ collection first !(icloud/TraktorDJ/collection.nml.gz .. do you see this file ?)
then make a complete reinstall. Did you ever use TraCoMerger, and having a Windows PC ? .. if you need my support, let me know
