We all know about the new GUI, that everybody gets Massive and the new drum synths - but where are the details of what's improved in the engine? Do we finally have round robin now? Real time time stretch? Groove quantize?

I obviously mean something more detailed than the one NI sent out when they announced the 2.0 update.

Massive has been free with Maschine 1.x for a long time, by the way.

Multi core support is new and probably the largest feature ever. I still want a ton of features that aren't there yet, but thats pretty major.

So still no real time timestretch or round robin then? Weird. Round robin is not exactly rocket science and Kontakt have had realtime timestretch for about ten years now. Personally I feel exceptionally underwhelmed by the update. But that's me.

Why would you have expected any of those? None of that was ever mentioned in any of the announcements about 2.0.

seems like ni hit the reset button with this release and bought the whole maschine concept to where it should of been in 2010 (if ni had the correct vision at the time)
but think going forward surely the real time ts is coming up next, perhaps there will neva be mp3 support but maschine is still a grate product.

Some people are never happy...... Multicore...... Sidechaining...... Unlimited scenes...... Unlimited groups....... Drum synth...... Timecoding........ As the softwares been written from the ground up I don't think they've done badly at all..........

I agree with you scaryman. I work as an IT engineer and have a fair idea about the work which has been made to re-write a software like this. The drum synth, multi-core, make it work for earlier versions etc, I am only thinking that people who complain are totally unaware of the work which has been put into this.
I am so happy to be independent from my DAW. Going back and forth from Maschine to Cubase just was a pain in the ass, also having to work with Maschine as a plug-in in Cubase. With the new Maschine Studio Im able to work with Maschine as a standalone and only do the mastering in my DAW. I'm into hip-hop and Maschine Studio is really a blessing for my workflow. No more exporting of midi or audio. No need for that. Sampling, sequencing, mixing etc, everything is done in Maschine Studio.

NI has done a great job with Maschine Studio, and I bought the hardware as well only to really take the full advantage of this product. Yes, you can work with earlier controllers, but I just decided to go all-in because of my urge to change my workflow. Really satisfied with this.

Now that there are unlimited groups and scenes for me it makes a DAW completely redundant..... Should be able to do everything I need to do inside Maschine...... I can understand some people being disappointed in certain features they specifically wanted, but all in all what NI have done with both the new controller and the software update is way beyond my expectations...... The future is looking excellent for Maschine.... Balletryne I couldn't agree more with your post..... :)
