What's the best software for Mac and NI?

I have a Mac with OS 10.6.8 - 4GB of ram a Akai MPK49 Keyboard and planning on getting a ATA Firewire RAID with 2 7500 or better hard drives. I have Damage already and will be getting Komplete 8 in a couple of days. I'm using both Garage Band (which seems way to limited and doesn't work fully with my MPK49) and Ableton Live Lite (only lets me use 6 tracks).

So my question is what software should I get? I'm looking at Cubase 6 Artist and Apple's Logic Pro, both are affordable for me but I worry about how easy they are to use and how well they work with NI plugins and my Akai MPK49. Oh I'm doing both live recording and MIDI instruments.

I downloaded and worked with Reaper all day and it didn't fair well. I was very excited on the cost and the amazing forums and how much help there is for it but when I tried to use DAMAGE with Kontakt, Reaktor and Guitar Rig I ran into problem after problem. First just changing which sets I wanted caused it to fail and each time I had to restart Reaper then I kept losing sound and alternatively it would stack sounds even though I changed them. If this is how it works with the first try I don't want to use it even if it's free. I'm a big Midi Instrument user and only use recorded audio for finishes like guitar, vocals and maybe some others but the majority is all midi.

    Thanks for your suggestion though.
