    ^^ Exactly.

You have the midi from of your midi track 3 set wrong. Set the midi from in track 3 to "track 2" so it receives from Maschine.
    ---
The only VST host with this issue of only 1 midi out channel is Ableton and Studio One. Cubase, Reaper, and Cakewalk work fine for all 16 channels. Not sure about Samplitude though. Logic and DP do not support VST so they don't work since this is not possible with AU yet.

    The Solution

It's funny because this is a really easy thing to do if you know what to do, but also really easy to miss.
    1. Create your Maschine Track
    2. Create another midi track, midi from should be the Maschine track
    3. MAKE SURE THE BOX UNDER MIDI FROM HAS "MASCHINE" ENABLED. IF POST OR PRE EFFECTS IS SELECTED IT WON'T WORK
    4. Midi out should be the Maschine controller
Let me know if this doesn't work

It does not matter and captious

    trial is a denial standart
    the real is:
all chanells playing the same notes
all notes are playing all channell
the result is the same like one sound per instance

    cubase - studio one logic-samplitude

    all have vst instrunments

I tried but still no success, see attached, step 2 and step 3 seem to contradict themselves :
If I take the Midi in from the Maschine Track, I DO get post/pre effects.

The first image is correct. It should work with those settings. You may have an issue at your hardware itself. Make sure it is receiving midi from the maschine out port. But the first image is the correct Ableton Live settings.

The second image is incorrect as it shows Maschine controller for the midi from parameter. You don't want that. The midi from parameter on track 2 should be just plain Maschine, not Maschine controller

I also noticed that track 2 is outputting to channel 1. Make sure your hardware device is receiving on channel 1.

    ?

In your screenshots, you're sending it to the external MIDI out. You aren't sending it to the track in question.

I think that is his goal. Trying to sequence external hardware attached to Maschines physical midi out port.

    Edited above. That should work.

well it does not work !

and it's not my hardware, because if I open exactly the same project in Maschine standalone, then I get midi from the output of Maschine into my hardware and I hear my synts&drumcomputers.

The first thing is to match channels on the midi track to your hardware. In the earlier reference pics you had the midi tracks midi to parameter set to Maschine hardware channel 1 so your device is getting channel 1 data not channel 10

Did you forget to arm the midi track?
If you are monitoring the hardware in Live, did you forget to arm the audio track receiving from your hardware?

You can also place the midi out sound you are using in keyboard mode to make sure you are not sending notes out of the range of your hardware's selected voice.

OK - I have tried this a few ways, cant get MIDI out of Maschine to work at all when loaded as a VST!

I created a new MIDI track routing from the Maschine track, (have to select Pre or Post FX) and sending that either to my soundcard MIDI out or the Maschine MIDI out.

Either way, I cant even see the notes coming in... I have IN monitor ON for the empty MIDI track. I just wanna sequence some external gear, dont mind if its from Maschine's MIDI out or the soundcard's....

As others have said, no probs doing this from Maschine standalone.

    Any help much appreciated!
    Thanks

EDIT: Got it working with a new Live set... yes you have to make sure MIDI FROM is set to Maschine, under Pre/Post FX.

It might not make any difference, but is there an option to select 'Machine' rather than Pre or Post FX?

I know using Reaktor that I need to do it this way.

OK... so I ran into the serious limitation due to Ableton's (non)handling of multi-channel midi instruments... that I can only use one MIDI channel at a time when using Maschine as VST.

Now, I managed to find a solution in terms of MIDI by using MIDI Yoke, and Maschine as slave. It seems to work pretty well though the timing in Maschine jumps around a little... but nothing that a bit of post-editing cant fix.

Now I want to connect the audio aswell... tried using Jack (on Windows) but having some problems atm. My ideal would be to pipe audio from Maschine into one or more channels in Ableton, or at least have them sharing the soundcard.

EDIT: Looks like I have some research to do to get Jack working with my RME soundcard under Windoze..
