I feel the article is pretty clear - we are conducting test for all our products and releasing updates when necessary. We will let you know when this has been fully done.

Ah yes! The article was clear on your objectives – but not so clear on the expected timescales or any progress! :D

I do appreciate that it often isn't easy to predict how long it will take to fix software, and you have many products to check, AND you have a commitment and reputation for quality – but I think I'm probably not alone in saying that we'd love to know (even roughly) what your estimated timescale for this process is... Or how many you've checked and got through (so that we can update if our particular collection of NI products has been tested but don't actually require updates...)

    Thank you. :)

Thank you Alexander for the feedback.
I sure understand that a time-frame would be appreciated but we aren't able to commit to any at the moment. We are doing the best we can to work through our portfolio of products and unless all the available software are compatible, we won't be able to give the green light for the 10.15 update.
We'll share more information as soon as possible so stay tuned ;)

I noticed that the short article that included the compatibility chart stated:

"Important note: macOS 10.15 will terminate the operability of NI legacy hardware as described in this article."

That is a somewhat open ended statement that puts a pit of fear on my stomach. When you say "will terminate the operability of NI legacy hardware" do you mean indefinitely, or until you are able to to come up with solutions to get that hardware operable with the new OS. You didn't totally clarify that. For instance, I use two Traktor Kontrol X1 MK1 Controllers, should i just toss those in the garbage now? I won't be able to sell them if they don't work with mac computers and I won't be able to use them myself since I've updated the OS on my mac. Is the X1 MK1 on the list of products that your looking to update for operability with Catalina?? I need answers on this.

I'm afraid the X1 MK1 would not work on 10.15 and we won't be able to bring compatibility for this device or the one listed on the article. You can use it with 10.14 following our instructions but this workaround is not possible on 10.15 anymore.

    Hi everyone,

I bought an iMac last week (October 14) and installed NI before I saw this warning. I have Komplete Kontrol 12 and all but three VST installed fine and actually work in Ableton. The three that I can't get to install are:

    1. Session Guitarist - Strummed Acoustic 2
    2. Session Strings Pro 2
    3. Symphony Series Woodwind Ensemble

I can download the ISO files and regardless of whether I try to install from the HD or through Native Access, those three fail.

    Anyone else have similar result?

You can check which apps on your machine are 64-bit by clicking the Apple icon @ top-left > About this Mac > System Report > Applications (under Software). I'm not sure if this is relevant for you as you are already on Catalina.

On my mac, which is running Mojave, I see that the following NI apps are not 64-bit compatible:
    Kontakt
    Kontakt 5
    NI Service Center

The VSTs you mentioned are all Kontakt instruments, right? I suppose they aren't going to work until Kontakt is updated...

I am using MacOS Catalina 10.15 and I am also able to use Kontakt just fine in Ableton. I am also able to use Kontakt Factor Library, and Komplete Kontrol. I don't have any NI hardware, so I can't speak to that compatibility. The only issue I have is that three of the instruments won't install.

I also have Logic 10.4.7 and I was able to load KONTAKT (with no issues) into two tracks as a VST. I recorded two tracks successfully with two instances of Kontakt working (one as a guitar and the other Kinetic metal). I didn't check every single VST inside Kontakt, but it worked just fine.
