    Always good to clone working OS drive to be able to use older software when Apple kills some core code. I have to go back to El Capitan clone to run Autosampler. A lot of things will never run on catalina. Even novation has stated automap does mot and cannot work with catalina. New version of Arturia stuff will work on catalina, older stuff will not, etc. thank Apple for **** storm.

    The bottom line is, unless you’re a Mac or iOS developer (in which case you have to update to install the latest Xcode), there is never a good reason to immediately update when a new major version of macOS ships. These issues will all get ironed out eventually, and security updates are still being released for Mojave. Be smart and wait till everything you rely on is confirmed to work properly with any new OS version.

    NEVER a good reason?? That's a bit too absolute. I am not a developer, yet I am very pleased to have installed Catalina on the first day of release. There are many different types of users with different objectives. I have no critical projects with deadlines due within the next few months. BUT.. I am staging quite a bit of work that will start early next year and will keep me busy for the first half of 2020.

    I want to dive into this upcoming work using ONLY software that is well supported from its developers. If something is not ready by mid January, it will not be in my software "toolbox" for any of my upcoming work.

    And I am very OK with this. I prefer it actually. And having my Catalina boot volume being prepped in stages is very helpful in getting me ready for my 2020 workflow.

    And how soon a piece of software is working well on this Catalina boot volume gives me a gut-feeling about a my future reliance on any particular item. I'd rather weed these things out before I dig in deep to new work.

    What I'm saying is it's not worth the risk to update immediately unless you're willing to accept the consequences. If you don't mind some of your apps or hardware not working for months, or bugs in the OS itself (like the data loss bug in Mail that still hasn't been fixed in 10.15.1), and think that’s worth the tradeoff for the features in the new OS update, fair enough. It's up to you to make that calculation before updating. If something is broken after you update, you have no one to blame but yourself. Any good third party developer will post compatibility info so you can make an informed decision.

    To be clear, I don't think this is a great state of affairs. If Apple thinks breaking changes in every major release are the best way to move the platform forward, I defer to their experience, but they need to do a much better job of communicating the consequences of updating, since it's become increasingly difficult to roll back when an update breaks a bunch of things you rely on. The way they aggressively push the new version on day one with notifications bugging you to update is totally irresponsible. Let early adopters choose to install the first couple versions (which are effectively still betas) and don't start pushing everyone to update until all the major issues are worked out and most third party software has been updated.

    For what it is worth, finally, all of my VSTS (I have Komplete Kontrol 12) have now installed in Catalina and everything appears to be working. I do not use any Native Instrument hardware so I can't confirm if they work.

    Hi,

    Will 10.15 work with these NI products?
    Traktor Z1
    Traktor X1 MKII
    Traktor F1

    All the best, Soph.

    Today I downloaded and installed NA on a clean Catalina operating system, crash, so we still have issues do we? So NA is still not supported?

    Application Specific Information:
    abort() called
    terminating with uncaught exception of type boost::filesystem::filesystem_error: boost::filesystem::status: Permission denied: "/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.native-instruments.NativeAccess.Helper2.plist"

    Has anybody got NA running on Catalina?
    Was happy to see my Z1 worked straight away without doing anything.

    Hey, Native Access runs fine on Catalina for me.

    Please NI, update on Z2 status. Its by far the #1 pb regarding Catalina.

    Can somebody else confirm NA works on Catalina. I've done two clean Catalina installs on two separate PCs and NA will not run on either.

    After some research it seems like NA won't run without OpenGL, and Catalina has depreciated OpenGL. So quite how people are getting Native Access to run on Catalina is nothing short of a miracle. Frankly I'm skeptical.

    That's even more of a mystery than this thread ending up in this forum.

    NA = Native Access.
    Seems like you are somehow running OpenGL on Catalina. Perhaps you upgraded your OS rather than clean install it.

    Update - NA is working. NI needs to put in the release notes that Catalina must be updated to 10.15.2.

    So everything installed from Komplete except Reaktor 5 is no big deal as I have 6, and also Traktor 2 which is acknowledged. I assume it's no longer supported and I have to upgrade to 3 :(

    OK guys, I have been reading ALL the entries of this thread, and most of them are from all the way back in October 2019 - 8 months ago. The last entry before my message is actually from January 5 2020, more than 6 months ago.

    Over the last month or so my MacBook Pro running El Capitan finally died, and I had to purchase a new macBook Pro, that came with Catalina already installed. I have been trying to get all Native Instruments apps to work, and many of them have been restored, but i haven't tested them yet. The ONLY one I really need is Traktor S4 Controller, but "obviously" is not working under the new OS.

    This is why after a web research and after reading many articles I landed this thread - and again, i have gone through all entries, SO WHAT IS THE COMPATIBILITY SITUATION NOW, 6/8 months after all the NI product manages and moderators where saying "hold on, we are working on it"?

    PLEASE GIVE ME (US) SOME FEEDBACK. Now that the lockdown is over here in italy I do have a number of gigs already lined up and planned for the next summer months, and i would REALLY like to dj using my controller, instead of showing up on stage only with the laptop like a bedroom dj, and dealing with its limited approach on "hands on mixing". THANK YOU.

    Hi Alex, please see my previous message. i purchased my new MacBook last Friday and I'm running 15.15.4 - and Traktor S4 won't work. Do I have to trash my NI hardware, or are you going to do something about it?
