I have changed my sample directory to my own folder. Now, I cannot locate the original folder.

    These folders are all empty:
    Documents/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Libraries
    Documents/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Sounds
    Applications/Native Instruments/Absynth 5

Documents/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Libraries is the Template Libraries Directory. Applications/Native Instruments/Absynth 5 is my content location in Native Access.

    Assistance appreciated, thank you

Via Native Access you can reinstall Absynth.

Thanks for the reply. The folder I wanted to locate was the attached.

Are these wav files sitting in "NIAbsynth 5Database2_ul"? This seems to be the file location.

I have reinstalled, those folders are still empty.

This folder in the attached screenshot was restored as the sample library. But now I have browsed away from it to my own folders, it is no longer popping up as the default library, and I cannot locate it on my Mac.

How can I set the directory to the Absynth sample folder when I do not know where it is?

Please see attached for the path file when I click to open a sample in Absynth...but when I search there, it is empty apart from NIAbsynth 5Database2_ul.

Click on "Browse" and navigate to your 'Samples' folder like shown in post #8.
Are you on mac or pc? I'm on pc.
Mayhaps 'Options' in Absynth looks different to my screenshot?

Mac. It does look the same...point being, when I browse away from the factory samples folder, then browse back, it is empty, containing only the NIAbsynth 5Database2_ul:

But where is your own sample directory? You must go there.

I know where my own sample directory is, and will browse there when I want to use my own samples.

i do not know where the Absynth Factory samples are, and need to in order to browse there again after moving away from it to my own samples.

Searching for the factory samples, as in my screenshot above yields no results on my Mac.

moving to which destination? - Or do you delete the factory samples?
If reinstall don't bring them back deinstall Absynth complete from your mac. Then use Native Access and start installing like the very first time you got Absynth. If there is no Absynth on your sys NINA brings back all what you need included the samples.
For the future: Take first a backup of all your downloaded software. Example: I get an update. So there are two open explorer windows on my desktop (in your case from finder). The first point to the dl section the second is my update path. If NINA finished dl and start to instal I take a copy in my backup path. If installing finished NINA delete the file in dl section.
Now I can burn my backup to CD or DVD.

On pc it's that link for Absynth Factory samples
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples
    upload_2020-7-12_0-31-15.png

Is there similar to pc a common folder on mac?

    I have not deleted them.

Consider this situation please, in which I want to load a sample of my own onto patch A, then later, an Absynth sample onto patch B:

    1. I load my own sample from my own sample onto patch A (thereby scrolling away from the Absynth sound folder).
    2. When I come to load an Absynth sample onto patch B, the Absynth sound folder is not opened, but my own sample folder. How do I get back to the Absynth folder? The following are all empty, also a search for the Absynth samples yields no results on my Mac.

    Documents/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Libraries
    Documents/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Sounds
    Applications/Native Instruments/Absynth 5

    - all empty. Documents/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/Libraries is the Template Libraries Directory in Absynth options. Applications/Native Instruments/Absynth 5 is my content location in Native Access.

The factory library is stored in:
    /Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/

or old-style Mac OS Classic path:
    Macintosh HD:Library:Application Support:Native Instruments:Absynth 5:

From what I have seen above, you are pointing to your home Library folder instead of the System Library folder.

Here are some sample names from the Factory set: Crunchy Organ from folder 3 - Keys, Artvox-eh from folder 9 - Vocal, Steam Morph from 18 - Morphed Cymbals and Digeridoo from 8 - Wind Instruments.
Search in your finder for these 4 sample names please to localisate your Factory samples.

What you are displaying is from "/Users/Charlotte/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/".

You should be displaying from "/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Absynth 5/" instead.

There are 3 Library folders spread around a macOS installation:
    -- /System/Library/
    -- /Library/
    -- /Users/<username>/Library/

Paule: I have already searched for sample names that I have drilled down to when loading a factory sample on opening Absynth. They yield no results:

Victorp: yes, that is the file path. Thank you!

Could you explain why files are put in these remote locations, when they are not listed in my Native Access file locations?
