Sorry for the delay. We have still some problems to solve before we can release the update, so please be patient. Because of the nature of the problems it's too difficult to predict a release-date.

    Bye,
    Steffen

Steffan, are these problems registration or software related? Just curious.

    ?

How can your production be held up by the release of a product

if your are using pro-52 then you should be on your way

pro-53 looks better but pro-52 is no sloutch

if you are not how do you know what you missin in your production

if your production is so key on pro-53 then i would just order pro-53 since it is not that expensive as a whole and it is the upgrade that has the issue not the complete product as i understand it. If i were under the gun to release something i would do what it takes to finish and not loose my focus on things out of my control

First the production stopped because waiting for the rignt Mics. Then it stopped waiting for the B4! Now it held up waiting for the Pro-53, because only the best is god enaugh for us.

We need realy fat sound and the Pro-53 is much better, I heard.

Whatsever, we can wait one week longer. :)

Well we're mid-week and there's no sign of it yet!

BTW does anyone else have trouble posting to this forum via IE6? I am forced to use Netscape 6 as I seem to have log in problems...

First Off yes i have always had trouble with ie6 posting to this forum

    Second

Dude you need to relax about this update, i am sure that NI is working like dogs on All the updates in the pipe, Pro-53 , Reaktor 3.3 and updates to other products and stuff we don't even now about

the last thing you want is a rushed to release product and it is full of bugs

then you will scream for updates to fix the bugs

if you want to see the negative side of this go look at the Cubase.net forums

Steinberg released SX to meet some promise they made to release on a certain date and it was full of bugs to the point that the day they released there was an update and two more since then

the user comunity has been very vocal about all of this

first it was give me, give me,

then when they got it and it was buggy it was fix it now damn you

this seems to me to be a very counter productive attitude

    And I respect that.

The only problem I have is that NI have had the Pro-53 pages on their website for roughly 2 months now. The article says that the update will be available at the beginning of August (approx). We are now virtually in September.

I just don't happen to think it's a very professional way for them to conduct their business, that's all. If they'd kept quiet about the update until the release date, there would be no disappointment.

Dude i totally agree that in some respects NI and other companies that give projected release dates way off the mark do nothing but foster anxiety in the user comunity. NI would be better off keeping it to themselves and then give us a the product when it is ready, more of a surprise.

    Cheers

I guess it's difficult for a company not to provide some response in an environment where all users across the world get to share their views and frustrations on a central public forum. A lack of response suggests we're being ignored and an inaccurate response suggests they might be misleading us.

I think the most reasonable response from NI would be one of the following:
    1. We have not yet begun on that project.
    2. The project has begun, is well underway or is nearing completion (choose one) but it's too soon to give an accurate completion date.
    3. We will go into CD production this week and the product will be on the shelves two (three, whatever) weeks later.

Any other response is a "best guess" that assumes no unexpected problems beyond contingencies already factored into the schedule projection. NI should never tell us their actual schedule; schedules slip all the time.

    Don
