I just noticed this thead has been viewed over 800 times. One thing is certain -- expectations for PRO-53 are running high.

Well clearly they are having some problems as it was stated earlier in this thread. It's sometimes difficult to keep schedules yes, and they even updated the info on the page so I think NI is handling things far better than most companies out there. now it says beginning of september so we're still in schedule, if they can't fix the problem, more delay.. that's ok, as long as we are given some kind of information. communication is important but there must be some sort of understanding on both sides for it to work.

I've been checking quite a lot of companies websites on the industry since now new stuff is coming out all the time and it's pretty similar everywhere.. Just remember one thing before you go whining: these are estimates, not promises.. if they said I PROMISE it will come out in september, now then you would have something to complain about.. just my 2 cents though.. meanwhile let's go and make some music! If your tune sucks it will probably continue to suck after the next release, and next and so on... :)

I agree to that people shouldn't air their frustration about the delay of the Pro-53 here - if it's not finished it should not be released. Only Microsoft releases beta-versions of their products ;-)

On the other hand, I think NI should remove the scheduled release time (first july, then august, now september) at all and instead write something like ..will be released in the near/immediate future.

This simply because pushing back the release date all the time, is what frustrates people.

Is the new headng for the release of PRO-53 "NEW" news or "OLD" news

    please don't tease this way

if the update is going to be soon then great

if you play the delay game again then shame on you

They've been listening to that old record by The Supremes too often i.e. You keep me hangin' on! Except, I don't want them to get out of my life and they're not my babe!

Set me free why don't you babe
Get out of my life, why don't you babe
Cos you don't really love me
You just keep me hangin' on!

Get a grip NI and put us out of out misery!

Has anyone heard anything on the update for existing "users"? I say "users" because my original registration went to Steinberg and I can find no evidence of a serial number to register it with NI.

That was my problem until someone on this forum kindly suggested I look for it. I thought only Steinberg had my serial number. I went through *all* my files and finally retrieved the info.

When you purchased Pro-52 there was a card containing your serial number. The bottom portion was to be sent to Steinberg and the upper portion was to be kept in a safe place. You may want to do like I did and look through your 'stuff' until you find it. You'll also need to know the purchase date and whom you purchased it from.

    good luck :)

Problem is, I cannot say with 100% certainty that I did have a card. Normally, I am very careful about them and photocopy each one I send out. I have scoured my desk and cabinets trying to find the bottom half of the Steinberg card but I have not found it. My firm memory is e-mailing NI when I bought it asking how to register and they told me to do it with Steinberg. If NI could dig up that original mail (which I no longer have), it would say whether I had a registration card or not.

Sorry to bore everyone with this!

Your serial number should also be on the side of the box, if you kept it.

    I'm dumbfounded!

    Re: Pro-53

What's the hold up now? I'm starting to believe NI is run by a bunch of dithery old women who fuss and hold meetings about every little thing!

It's certainly getting increasingly obvious where NI's priorities lie. They clearly don't have much loyalty to their longstanding customers anyway! Why else would Pro-52 users be made to wait for a patch whilst the rest of the world i.e. those buying new copies take priority?

Don't worry Mark I didn't get one either I was a pro-five user who upgraded to the pro-52. I have a feeling that in this instance you use the original registration number that came with the pro-five.

    Hope this helps!

Not to be picky but you should be looking for the TOP part of the card. :)

I really can't believe to read this. We give this update with a lot of new features and improvment to you for free and this is not much loyalty? Only because we first finished the full-version before the update-version? Kopfschuettel.

    Steffen

Don't let the immature rambling of one user understate the fact that this update being for free is a really good thing

NI has gone above and beyond the call of duty by providing such a major upgrade for free

    and easily via a download

i wish some users would grow up but it seems they won't

unfortunately in the faceless world of the internet it allows people to act in a fashion i can't believe they would face to face

i think NI should be highly commended for the feature rich software they create and the fact they keep going and going with new updates and new products

take the time you need to get it right

take the time you need to not end up resenting the things you create

my respect and admiration to all at NI

OK, maybe I was being a little rash - but only because I care. I wouldn't write these comments otherwise - faceless or not. I am a big fan of NI software and can't wait to get my hands on the Pro-53. I hope I haven't offended you too much, and if I have I apologise - I am sorry.
