Where are we on the Update to PRO-53

Being that I am a "real" owner of Pro-53, I can undesrstand why someone would want the update quickly. It is a very nice VST and the dates for the update did get moved back some.

Yes, it is free and that is wonderful, but I would have liked to have my copy with the release of the full version.

If we didn't care about Pro-53 and didn't like it, we would bother witt he update. It is only since we do like it that we complain about not getting it.

Ok, done with the babble. I look forward to the Pro-53 update and hope it is soon.

 

Well, by some miracle of freakology, I have found my original receipt which looks like it has the serial number on it.

I'm not going to post it here for obvious reasons but if I quote the first three characters, please could anyone confirm whether it looks like the serial?

It starts: 087 and carries on for seven characters.

Many thanks if anyone can identify this as a potential serial number.

My thanks for confirming this but I have just tried registering using this number and I get "The serial number you entered has not the proper length." Ten characters is what I have but I suspect NI are expecting eleven.

Mr. Moderator help! I have a number which I think fits the format of other Steinberg products I have but doesn't fit the NI number scheme. How do I get this registered?

The only thing I see is still the old and dusty "PRO-52 2.5 - Update"!

So why are you talking about registration codes and so?

 

dude buy a clue and drop the attitude

to download the update you will need to be a registered user

like all other major updates at NI

seems like some people want to make sure ahead of time they have everything in order

probably because once the update is out they don't want or need delays due to registration issues

made sure i was registered ahead of time

didn't want issues to arrise with the switch from Steinberg to NI

The point is, that now it's Septembre. And some people can't wait till christmas!

I think that the update is coming on Christmas and not bevore.

First there are the launch of the normal Buyable version of the Pro-53. Then some month more, the update for Mac and maby PC.

OK - don't wanna make you sad. Bud serious: Do you beleve, the Pro-53 Update is coming very soon?

Had the same problem 15 minutes ago, start with the "87" and forget about the first "0" (zero), it'll work.

persoanlly i am far from stressed about a delayed update to a piece of software

i do hate to see forums digress to agered posts that do nothing

you want to call me names fine go ahead, you want to call NI names that's your call also

but i will be surprised if all of that will get the result you want

mostly it will make people think twice about offering any assistance when you have a real problem

My posts inadvertantly started this off so now I am registered OK, let's close this thread and start a new one for the Pro53 arrival date and issues. Hope that idea isn't going to start a new war!

I totally agree. What is important for people to remember, is that although the update is not online yet, you are getting it for >> free. <<

Come to think of it, it is highly generous of Native Instruments to do so as well. What we get, is a (AFAIK) totally rewritten version of the Pro-52, an upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0 if you like.
How many companies upgrades their software in a major way and doesn't charge a single euro for registered users? I can't think of any.
Was the upgrade from Cubase 3.7 to 5.0 free? No. Can you expect to get the next upgrade (or degradation - you decide) for Micro$ofts next Office suite for free if you already bought Office XP? Of course not.
Okay, maybe that was a silly comparison but I am sure you'll get my drift.

Point is: an upgrade from 2.5 to 3.0 is a major upgrade which most companies would charge money for. We are getting this for free. Be grateful and patient.

 

Allegedly! That is to say that I don't see any sign of it yet. Let's not forget that it was originally predicted (by NI themselves) to be out at the beginning of August! We will soon be in October! I couldn't get away with running my business like this! The difference is I have to deal with the public face to face. NI can hide away in their offices!
