So I just purchased a Maschine MkII and as soon as I tried to install it I got the dreaded, "this software requires Mac OS 10.7" error. I was unaware when I purchased it that it required 10.7 to work since the box said 10.6 OR 10.7. required. I have since relaised this must have referred to the previous version of Maschine software (although I was of the understanding that all MkII's came with 2.0 software).

So, as much as I could sit here and complain all day about NI's lack of support and about the fact that I can't use my new piece of gear in my studio (NO I'M NOT UPGRADING my system, I have a bunch of more important software that would be incompatible or require expensive upgrades with the new system) I'm going to to try to move on.

So I'm thinking of selling this Maschine because I am pissed off and won't be able to run the software that I heard so much about. However before I make that decision I thought I would at least try out the old 1.8.2 software, however I can't seem to find it anywhere to download! Does anyone have a link?

I messaged NI about it yesterday but haven't heard back, I'm about 20 mins away from putting this thing back in the box and chucking it on eBay, or out my window! But hopefully someone can at least direct me toward the old software before I do.

Weird. If you've got an old box with 10.6 written on it then it should also have the old software inside. You'll have to wait for NI to stump in 1.8.2 I guess. Unfortunately OSX 10.6.8 appears to be on the way out, it's being dropped by more and more companies (including Apple).

Yeah, there was no install disc in the packet in my box, just the CD slip. Its ridiculous that I can't find it to download from the NI site. Can anyone else?

I have no plans to update my studio system in the near future, I have a stable and very able system working in my studio, it does everything I need it to.

My mate tried to talk me out of a Maschine, telling me to go all hardware because PC software is unreliable and told me to get an MPC instead, wish I'd taken his advice.

    where did you purchase Maschine?

    The NI website clearly says:

    Mac
Mac OS X 10.7 or 10.8 (latest update), Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended)

my Maschine Studio box also crearly says 10.7 or 10.8.

my guess, is that you bought it from somewhere other than NI and you have been given an old box. i suggest you get in touch with whoever sold you this and get your money back.

    I Hate you !!!
It's copletely crazy, it happens from nowhere, and today i can't play my tracks, but a few hours ago it was possible !!!!

Also the fact that there wasn't an installer disk in the box is a bit dodge?
