    Hi,

I've just updated to the latest version (5.5.1 R10584) and the installation went smoothly without any error.

After launching Reaktor (both standalone and VSTi) I noticed that the small drop down lists for the MIDI/Audio In/Out were missing from the ensembles I loaded and couldn't find the Audio settings anywhere else (I found the MIDI settings on the Connections page).

There are two options: either I lost my sanity or simply missed something. I don't use Reaktor too frequently, so I'm hoping for the latter.

This is only available in standalone mode.

The whole issue came up when I noticed that I can't patch external audio into a vocoder plugin (bluecoder) that used to work in previous versions. The previous layout had an In/Out dropdown list for both in MIDI and audio in the plugin version, too and that allowed to remap any broken connections.

I added an In-Port and it really did solve the problem, thanks for the tip. As I mentioned, I've never edited the internal structure of the reaktor ensembles I use.

However, I still don't understand why a software update messes up the I/O structure of the sounds created in the previous versions (if that's what happened).

I also noticed that your bluecoder layout does have the In/Out dropdown list that I'm missing. I attached a screeshot with your and my version for comparison. I'd very much like if someone explained to me where those buttons (and their functions) have gone. MIDI settings were moved to the Connection page, but the audio settings vanished from the plugin version.

    a number of things:

Bluecoder was uploaded into the User Library with no input connections - that in my opinion is wrong. i can see the reason, so people can select which in the Carrier and which is the Modulator, but i am sure it has confused some people over the years

secondly, i would guess the Reaktor developers thought having the I/O Audio choices were not really needed. to be honest, in 10 years of using Reaktor i never used those Audio connection once, and i am sure i was not the only person.

thirdly, my screenshot was taken from my MacMini which still has Reaktor 5.1.5 because it is a non-Intel Mac. basically the Audio connections - in terms of the choices from 5.1.5 - are no longer there. you can still change the Audio inputs and outputs, but you will either need to go into the Structure - as i explained in the previous post - or make a switching System.

In this case I think I know what happened: after downloading bluecoder I immediately fixed this by using the drop down menu and didn't even notice that the original ensemble had no input connections.

Anyway, I miss the audio I/O selector, because it made it possible to adjust the I/O settings without having to edit the ensemble. It did make a lot of sense to have the I/O settings on the top level, as they may be different in every application of the same ensemble.

    Thanks for the info anyway.
