    Hi everyone,

It just occurred to me, while using Komplete Kontrol, that I don't see either Absynth or FM8 in the browser.

Are they not NKS ready? I have gotten so used to KK with the NI keyboards that I don't use much anything else.

Is there something I am missing?

Yes they are ready, look up the path that you installed these plugins? That's where you'll find your answer, you can fix this by using the relocate / reinstall function in the Native Access app..

Thank you - I'm not sure which function to use (relocate or repair/reinstall) so maybe I'll just re-install them? I'll do some reading and write back if I have questions. Thanks for the quick reply!

Well - I used the reinstall function (after using the NI registry uninstall tool) and both Absynth 5 and FM8 were re-installed successfully.

I did a re-scan using stand-alone Komplete Kontrol, and still the two libraries are not showing up!?
It makes me wonder if there are other ones that are missing as well? Does Drumlab, Abbey Road 60's Drums work in Komplete Kontrol? They are not there as well...

What could be going wrong I wonder? I let the NI installer put them in their proper place...?

You must have Kontakt installed you see Drumlab and Abbey Road (ensure you run as standalone first).
Same goes for Absynth & FM8 have you ran them standalone first to let them build their databases?

Yes - when I click on their icons, they start up perfectly.

But, when I run Komplete Kontrol, they are not visible as icons in the left browser. There are no images of them.

I can start them manually (drop-down browser, Instruments), and select them there. But I get a "reduced" gui and no library or presets to choose from.

    (I also noticed I don't see Battery 4 as well....ugh...)

But have you let them build their databases?

Not part of your original question, but if you want to see the full GUI in KK, go to View -->"Edit View"...if you haven't already figured that out.

    Peace,

Not sure if I understand what this means? I click on the icon "FM8" in my Native Instruments folder, and the program starts. I have a browser, and I can select presets.

I cannot select it in Komplete Kontrol, because there is no icon to select. (If I'm understand you correctly, but please let me know if I'm not...)

(**edit - ok, I looked up the words "rebuild-database-kontrol", and I see a method of forcing the database to rebuild itself by deleting the .db3 file in my appdata folder. I am trying this now, I'll let you know if I succeed...)

Did you customize any install locations by any chance?

No - I simply let the factory installer choose it's default location. (I learned that lesson a long time ago! ;))

And Komplete Kontrol is scanning those locations? Sure you dont have any duplicates on system?

It's all good now. The correct answer was the database needed to be re-built. This is not an obvious procedure, rather you have to find and delete some files in order to prompt Komplete Kontrol to rebuild. It certainly isn't obvious to someone who might be new to NI.

I have no idea why instruments would gradually begin to disappear over time? I was happily using my S61 and M32 when it occurred to me that I haven't used Absynth in a while!?
I realize (now that the database is re-built) that I was missing quite a few of my plug-ins from the browser!

I had to follow the instructions here:

    https://support.native-instruments....MPLETE-KONTROL-Browser-is-Empty-or-Incomplete

This solved my problem, and the instruments appear in my Komplete Kontrol browser now.

I wanted to add, it took a long time for my database to re-build (over an hour) and I had to re-do it a second time because my computer actually went to sleep!

Thank you all for helping me out. I wish I had an explanation why KK lost a few of my plug-ins, but I'm happy it's all back to normal....

Oh my gosh - I just tried the point you noted above. Wow, what a difference! Thanks for that tip!
