Hi everyone, I'm a new user, nice to meet You :)
I'm a sound designer (my job) and DJ (one of my hobbies) and I would like to buy a dj controller for my MBP.
I'm totally new to this "world" (I use a "classic" consolle) so I need some good advices to start.
I found two interesting dj controllers and I would like to know Your opinions about them.
    The first is M-audio xponent
    http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/TorqXponent.html
    the second is Vestax TR1
    http://ci.vestax.com/en/products/tr1_01.html

Which is, in Your opinion, the best? Is there a controller better than these two? Why?

Thanks in advance for Your replies, have a nice day :)

ps: I apologize for my ridiculous english, I'm italian :D

I Love My Xponent! It Has A Perfect Layout For Use With Traktor. I've Had Mine For Over A Year With Heavy Duty Use And For Me It's The Perfect Controler.

    thanks :)

I think I'll go for Xponent cause it seems more complete than TR1 even if TR1 is a lot more beautiful aesthetically.

May I ask You about Your pc/mac/traktor configuration?

    thanks again :)

Thanks for the hilarious italian translation (google?), it's funnier than my english :D

The piece of hardware You linked is really impressive, looks cool and very professional, but I would like to buy a single unit with everything on it (double deck and mixer).

thanks again for Your reply :)

IMO eather a keyboard controller like the Novation 25sl mkII or a platter controller like the Vestax VCI 100...the VCI 100 is much better quality controller than that thing from m-audio... check out DJTechTools.com they even have custom mappings for the VCI 100

    Hmmm...

That you'd consider the Xponent suggests that you wouldn't mind platters; that you'd consider the TR-1 suggests that you don't mind forking for an audio interface...

VCI-100. I'm currently running two with TSP and they're rock solid.

Bought an Xponent about 12 months after release, so I believe was a Rev C (or at least Rev B). The left jog wheel started to stiffen after about 2x7x3...42 hours use, and found that the lack of ventillation around the PSU resulted in one side of the unit getting quite warm, quite quickly.

Found the software to be an eyesore. Had some okay functionality, and tied in well with the Xponent, but found myself longing for even the LE version of Traktor 3.

My advice? Steer clear of the Xponent: reeks of shoddy build quality.

The TR-1 is a very close second for me, but I prefer having jog wheels at my disposal.
