I figured it might be cool to inventorise:

    1) What style of music forum members are into?
    2) What style of music members create with Maschine?

May be informative for NI as well with regard to future soundpacks for Maschine ;)

Since I started this thread, it's only fair I do the kick-off :D

    1) Funk, R&B, Hip-Hop (East-Coast, West-Coast), Techno/Minimal, Soul (60's)
    2) Hip-Hop, R&B, Minimal

    Who's next?

    1) Besides HipHop I listen to all kinds of music from the mid sixties to the mid seventies. Not just to find samples by the way. Right now I'm listening to Grover Washington, Jr. - "Live At The Bijou".

    2) Hip Hop.

I want sounds that blend right in with the samples I use, so don't make them sound too modern and clean. Make them sound like they were recorded in the period I mentioned.

That's a great recording. I've got a lot of Grover's releases, and that's one of my favorites.

    1) very eclectic but daily basis i would say hip hop (mostly underground i.e. mf doom, del, el-p) and old school hip hop like krs-1 and tribe called quest, also alot of instrumental stuff like dj shadow, royksopp etc.
    2) mainly hip hop instrumentals and some free form music.

I thought I give this one a little BUMP since there may be other forum members / newcomers that would like to share this information. If not, I'll let the thread "die of natural causes". ;)

1: I listen mostly to hip-hop/RnB, but I am definitely expanding my horizons. Even getting into country a little bit. It's good to listen to all music to hear what kind of production is being done and then incorporating that into some of the tracks I produce.

2: Mostly Hip-Hop, but a little bit of Hip-Pop now and then.
