    I am about to buy an 88-key keyboard as masterkyboard for my homestudio. I am used to a real piano and I don't need many buttons and faders as these will be provided courtesy of Kore 2 (and its new Midi-mode). I am considering anything looking classic with a high WAF (Womens-Acceptence-Factor): Fatar Numa nero, stage-pianos, home-pianos (e.g. Yamaha P-155).

    Is anyone of you playing any of these or similar keyboards? Has anyone played the Numa Nero yet? What is your experience with what you are using?

    I use a Yamaha P-80. This is a slightly older keyboard from the early 90's but it uses the same Graded Hammer Effect keyboard found in many higher end Clavinova models including the Stage pianos.

    Found two of them for around $400.00 ea. Keep one at home and one at Church.

    I'm very fond of the Yamaha action both as a player and a service technician. We have little to no problems with the Yamaha actions. They have a very smooth and quiet action.

    Never tried the Numa Nero.

    A friend of mine really likes the Kawai keyboards. I forget the model number, but they are quite good if you are looking for as close to a real piano feel as possible.

    M-Audio makes a large 88-key weighted controller, but I would say it feels more plastic than authentic.

    There are quite a few out there and the best advice may be to walk into a local music store and feel them for yourself.

    I use a Yamaha K8. It has Graded Hammer Standard action, which I think feels really good. It is very sensitive to ppp key strikes, and has the advantage of being able to control my DAW. There are only 4 (switchable) knobs on it, and a few buttons for controlling velocity, apeggio, etc...so it's relatively simple, which I also like.

    Hi PhotoG,

    I tried to google Yamaha K8, but nothing came up. Do you mean the new Yamaha KX8?

    @everybody:

    Thank you very much so far, this has already been helpfull, but more input is highly appreciated. Maybe NI could make a poll out of this question?

    This site has a lot of great info on the package that can be obtained with a KX series controller (for an additional 4.95), including video tutorials.
