hello! how can i amplfy my guitar rig-sound for playing with band when there is no pa or something else. what do you use or what can you suggest for a powerful sound just for my guitar with guitar rig and laptop? i just want to listen the great sounds and i want to feel it. listening to it with headphones or with my computer isn`t the same as a rectifier with its brutal sound.. thanks for your help!

First off, it is NOT the same. However, the ability to create nearly endless tones on a laptop, going through a keyboard type of amp...is something a rectifier is unable to so.

Second, I love playing my Marshall DSL 50 cranked, it is hard to beat. But I also enjoy the many options a digital solution, such as GR3, can offer.

Really, it is apples and oranges.

As stated above, it would probably be best to run through a clean (not too colored) power amp/cabinet. Also, IMHO, it is better to setup your effects, your personal desired sound through an amp that you will take with you to a show. A PA will work, but you could end up having to tweak all your settings to accomodate the PA's charactaristics.

    BOL!

ok, i found the sound that makes me happy, really i´m totally satisfied first time in 15 years playing guitar. but there is still the problem. i tested several amps but it sounds so different.. i need a amplification which is more neutral. what about a cabinet with active amplifications - integrated amplification. there are not too expensive, but will they do the job? thanks again!

Sure, that works well. I use an ancient pair of Yamaha powered cabs with GR myself.

hello! i think i`ll choose a separate amplification and box. i think this is the better way for perfect sound when playing with my band. i want a massive and aggressive hardcore/metal-sound. so i need something that gives clear and powerful sound when playing really loud. which amplification and which box should i use? a 4*12?

thanks a lot for your help!

    solution!

hey, i found a great solution. i use a yamaha msr 400 active speaker. i never had such a powerful and felxible sound. this box is perfect for me because i love to play clear blues sounds as well as loud and crispy metal riffs. everthing is possible. and its so ****ing loud, perfect for band and as monitor for live. and with session i/o you can simply start a second instance of guitar rig to have nice sounds for micro.

Anyone use GR through an effects loop on an amp and just use the GR effects? I was wondering how that would sound. I don't have a loop on my Blues Jr. so I can't try it.
