I don't know about you guys, but for me, the jog wheel is a major feature. You can edit everything with it. And I'm talking about note nudging, pitching, etc.

I would have made the click a little less resistant, kind of like the MPCs.

Also, the clickable buttons have a much more nicer feel. Pads are more sensitive.

All in all, it's definitely a better controller.

Plus: the USB on the side, near the MIDI jacks is also a nice addition. I can place it below my lcd monitor now.

agree it is a better controller

although some peeps who are still salty about the lack of a discount upgrade may have become over attached to mk1 out of anger.

they feel that cos ni did not create the updated controller precisely as they specified (bigger , tilt screen, etc) that they are determinded not to like the new one.

but the controller has a subtle more classy feel

but they can hopefully implement software controlls for knob sensitvity which will address the issue about the resistance on the rotary controller.

but this is also handy for the knobs under the screen.

I appreciate the subtle improvements in the MK2 but let's face it, they both get the job done

I don't have issues with the speed of the knob... more with the feeling of the real hardware thing. the click mechanism is too tight if you know what I mean. But I'm not complaining. it's a welcome addition.

Had mkI,best piece of kit for creativity I ever bought... The mkII refined this. The pads are better, the colours are useful, the buttons have a better response, the USB connection is more secure.
Nothing against mkI, but mkII is hands down a better piece of kit, in every way.

I did get the mkII for a much cheaper price than normal though. At its full price, I would have waited until my mkI to break before picking one up...;)

Sorry it was a one off deal. There was an auction on kvr for save the children, and the bidding was in $. I paid 450$ for it, knowing that in £ that was a steal... Keir was a legend and gifted me a faceplate, and knobs of my choice... So I have a shiny white mkII with a steel blue front...mmm shiny...

the MKI sounds better...the rawness is all in its USB convertors

C'mon guys. He was referring to the raw look of it. If you put them side by side, the MK1 looks more unpolished.

A nice touch to the MK2 is the white rings painted around the knobs. Looks cooler.

the thinner white lines seperating the sections makes it look sleeker and more refined

as does the single data wheel add a more plush professional feel

the somehow clumsy side by side imo

like when u see and older model of the same series in a car

I guess that's why cars always go back to an older design.
It's all just opinions, nothing more.

Some how this has that classic right and wrong vibe already.

IMO the only thing they could have done to make a mkII appealing would have been make it larger with a better display and add even more knobs.

When I first saw Maschine mk 1 I thought it looked ****in awsome...still do...

That was one of the main reasons I got interested in Maschine in the first place. I use Maschine as my main controller and would really miss the workflow if it went.

I know she isn't gonna last forever so I will eventually go for a Mk2 but I am concerned I may lose something pretty special xxx

    Hope not.

one thin i will say as a negative on th emk2 the colours r too bright wish the doftware would have a colour mixer so we could alter the shade of colours

cos most of them is to intesne and kinda distracting for home /studio use

im sure its great as is for live use but i find it overpowering

I replaced the mk1 pads with mikro pads and buttons and it looks a lot nicer. Also the pads are more expressive which definitely helps. You can always upgrade the parts on the mk1, no reason it shouldn't last for a few years, had mine over 3 and it should be good for another 2 at least.
