I been thinking about going with a MB air. I don't have one but i believe from previous post it does work ok.

HD will generally be smaller. Also more than like your HP has 3 USB ports Macs only have 2 so depends on your setup you may need a USB hub.

    A tip that I used:

check the RAM. Minimum 4 GB for TP2. I was on a Macbook Late 2007 with 2.2 ghz core2duo and 1 GB Ram. It was orrible, after that I upgraded the Ram and now is really good without problems.

Ok, so here'm my experience running Traktor Pro 2.5 on a MacBook Air 11" - late 2010. It's a BTO model with a 1,6 GHz C2D, 4 GB RAM and 128GB flash storage.

First of all: Traktor runs smoothly. It does not crash, it does not stutter, nothing. However, there's no big headroom; by that I mean that you cannot run a browser with a few downloads and many service programs in the background without Traktor beginning to struggle. Also I have not tried running Maschine or Ableton simultaneously - I expect this to max out the CPU pretty quickly.

    Performance overall
When I play, I am using a Xone 4D as AI and mixer and a K2 as controller. No issues, even with complex mappings, LED output etc. I am not using key lock, so can't really say how that performs. I have no issues with latency.

    Disk space
Although 128 Gigs isn't a lot, I don't use it all. I have a 5TB server as backup machine where I keep my music archive, videos etc.
So large amounts of data are being outsourced. On the Mac itself I keep the music of the current year and some evergreens. I don't usually play stuff that's more than a year old, so that is outsourced.

    Screen / resolution
The resolution of the 11" is 1366x768. That ain't much ;)
Thus I have my mapping set up that it switches views a lot. Browse mode (where the browser is maxed) and Play mode (where almost no browser is visible any mire and the focus is on 4 decks). Now I must admit that playing with Traktor when my external monitor is connected is a lot more comfortable. I personally love the 11" form factor, so I can make compromises on the resolution. Bt again, it is a compromise.

In a nutshell: The MBA (even the C2D) is a great machine for Traktor if you optimize your habits (running applications and services, data management and screen real estate management).

    I love it! ;)

@coreycore: yes you can upgrade the ram without going to an apple store. search the web for guides or youtube, it's full of these :)

one great feature of the MBA 2011 with i CPU is the illuminated keyboard - don't know how many times it saved me!

I had alot of gooseneck LEDs before on my ASUS, but that was crap..
