why does it load samples again for every preset? (for same piano)

I would have thought that there would be a sample bank only for each of the four electric piano types, and that the different presets for the same piano type would share a common sample bank. Is this not the case?

As it is, every preset loads a new sample bank, which is painfully slow.
    This is normal?

Also, I find it strange that you mustchange the preset in order to have a different effect, like a filter OR tremolo OR EQ. So you can't chose to have a combination of these controls. This mixed with slow loading of patches that is necessary to access different controls, makes this thing seem to me like less than an ideal interface.

I got Elektric Piano with Komplete 3 and the sound is nice, but it's got nothin' on Logic's EVP88 for usability. I was hoping for something more like that (since I'm tending to use Ableton Live more these days).

Perhaps these issues would be possible in an update? or are they not an option? I think it would much better to have all the various effect controls (tremolo, phaser, filter, saturation etc.) on the interface, and have presets load samples only when a new piano type is chosen out of the four, otherwise, only change parameters (which would be much faster).

    thoughts anyone?

    cheers,
    Rob

...I don't know if Elektrik Piano in Komplete 3 differs from the original one, but it should load quite fast actually (... but not as fast as synth patch obviously...). If you'd be able to find a solution for your problem with Kontakt 2 not being able to load Elektrik Piano patches (...and it should be possible, I always loaded EP into Kontakt 1.5 when I still had it...) you may save the respetive effect chains only. This way you'd only load a sample-set once and then just change the effect chains...

you got it Loachm, that's exactly what I'd like to do, just use it in Kontakt. However, loading EP in kontakt always messes up the settings, and I've found also that modulation/envelopes don't seem to work. So say I load the ADSR EP patch. First of all, the ADSR settings are wacky, and then when I change them, the sound doesn't change, or send levels don't change when I tell it to. weird stuff. I'll experiment more later. For now I've rediscovered I great workaround. Instead of using EP, use the Electric piano patches that come with kontakt 2 !! most of the same instruments anyways. simple yet effective.

    cheers,

    Rob

...yeah, I gues that's all we can do for now - trying to develop workarounds. Let's hope you won't come across the Scarbee libs in the meantime ;-) ...
