Why doesn't my akoustik piano sound as good as the samples on the website?

I'm running Akoustik Piano with Pentium 4 2.66 GHz, 1.25G RAM, and an M-Audio Delta 1010LT soundcard. Latency-wise, it runs fine (mostly). But when I run AP either on its own or through Cubase, the samples don't have nearly the same clarity and detail as the samples on the website, especially the Steingraeber, which sounds really kind of muddy on my end. And when I try to layer other VST's over the piano samples, the piano doesn't even sound in the same ballpark.

I'm pretty positive I'm running the 24-bit sample library. What else can I do to maximize the quality of the piano samples?
