Hi, I've just purchased a Vestax Typhoon which came packaged with Traktor Le and am almost 100% happy with everything, except....it seems to pick and choose what songs it'll play. It will play some of my purchased songs, but not others, and does the same in every other playlist. All I've done is click on the itunes tab on the left hand side of the screen and gone from there. Here is the error message:

WARNING: The track (track name) could NOT be played due to a missing or corrupt file, unsupported format or DRM-protection

Has anyone experienced this before who might be able to give me fairly clear help with minimal jargon? It happens so often that it almost makes the purchase pointless.

    Cheers.

are they songs purchased from iTunes from a few years back? If yes, then those songs have iTunes DRM attached, and only iTunes can play it. You can, for about 50c per track, have iTunes remove the DRM and download higher-quality, DRM free tracks (as they ALL are now).

On the other hand, it could be that the track is no longer in the directory where iTunes thinks it is - try playing in iTunes to see if this is the case

    Thanks for your reply.

It does seem to mainly affect songs that were purchased at least a year ago and more, all my recently purchased songs are not affected. How do I get itunes to remove the DRM? I use itunes in the UK, so I hope it can still be done. Many thanks again.

there'll be an option in the itunes store to purchase the "iTunes Plus" versions of your songs (there should also be a count of how many you've got waiting)

I have had this happen too. I was able to play the files by importing the playlist. Then going to the playlist tab in track collection and playing it from there. It seems as though when you import the tracks it doesn't matter about the drm. This worked for me hope it does for you as well!

WARNING: The track (track name) could NOT be played due to a missing or corrupt file,

    Hi Guys,

    I have a similiar problem.

I use omni controller and traktor LE. When I play my music from CD slot Traktor doesn't recognize BPM. Well it does but BPM displayed on traktor is wrong.

Now when I copy my CD on a hard drive I can't play my songs at all becuse this message appears

"WARNING: The track (track name) could NOT be played due to a missing or corrupt file, unsupported format or DRM-protection"

Do you have a similar problems?

Any idea how to avoid it?
