i already posted somewhere else but i just wanted to make sure this would be seen...

i just want these two things in the near future hahaha... everything else has been said...

1 the ability to save a project in its OWN folder (ie samples, sounds etc) PLEASE! i need this. instead of everything from EVERY beat ive ever made in one place. such a mess...

2 being able to export the USED sounds in groups! either individual groups but a MASS export for ALL USED sounds in ALL groups would be even better and create FASTER workflow. (or at least have the USED pads light a solid orange when the export menu is pulled down so i can mute the other pads around it. instead of exporting DEAD SPACE aka Silent wavs...

Hey guy, 1. try using some ingenuity...choose "save project with samples" but choose the save location as the desktop, then put the project file in the sample folder and then rename the folder. 2. Makes no sense, what are you taking about?

    1. I was going to suggest the "Collate audio"/"Save project with samples" function too. Or do you mean like Reaper? With which you can choose in the preferences whether the samples/recordings are saved in the project folder (I think).

    2. VinnieTreux, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is referring to exporting audio and how it exports all pads and groups, irrespective of whether they're active or not, resulting in wavs of silence.
Muting all other pads works around this, I believe, as does using the Drag and Drop of audio, I think. Not sure though, haven't really used these features myself.

vinnietreux thats exactly my point. in the time it takes for that, im losing time doing other stuff when it should be standard like MOST of everything else. just name it and leave it alone. but i guess if thats what i have to do, then it is. but in logic... lol

mr 36 i dont use reaper but you get the drift and point 2 you nailed it

Use save projects with samples. It really should create a new folder with the project name for you so it is all tidy in it's own folder vs sharing with other projects.

The workaround is to create a new folder for each project with the same name and save to that folder. You can create the new folder in explorer by clicking the folder icon in the pop up. Then just right click and select new folder in the disired directory.

It really should do this automatically or have a "create folder option" in the save project dialog.

I for 1 dnt understand why some of u guys wanna save ur projects in its own folder with all the sounds and crap in it. Think about it ur saving the same sounds twice or even more times if u use the same sounds on different records(beats). Therefore u would be using more hard drive space. All of the maschine sounds are already on ur hard drive, every beat having its own folder means saving the same sounds already on ur drive again. UHH NAHHH. (my wife and kids)

the reason I ALWAYS create a new folder inside my maschine projects folder and save all my samples with my beat is because I transport my projects around (and it's buch easier to make back ups of your beat library this way with out a chance of something getting mucked up.)

btw all the features this poor soul asked are in the manual and already able to be done.
(maybe thats why your not seeing requests for em lol)

so where in the manual does it say you can export sounds without muting the pads of sounds youre not using. if its there then my bad. i dont remember seeing it. and thats what ive been doing.

i honestly cant see me recopying samples i already have in the long term. but if thats what i have to do for now so be it. i work mainly in logic so as fast as i work this tedious stuff really slows me down. and GOD forbid if i lose a file cause then id have to do a search for it or something in that clutter of a maschine folder from the drag and droping haha. oh well the show must go on.. workaround it is

This problem is only going to surface if you unfortunately keep all of your sound library and project files on your computer's harddrive. I however, have everything saved on a mammoth external harddrive.
    ---
LOL Seriously? It doesn't even take me full a minute to do that...why is taking you SO LONG to do this?

I'm hoping that with the full release of the 1.6 software that this will be fixed, but for now you're just gonna have to use the workaround.

when you do a save with samples it creates a project file and a (project name) Samples folder

so it already creates a separate samples folder for your project which has the name of the project on it, but I agree it's better to have the project file and the samples folder in it's own directory/file.

I just noticed this. lol Has this always been the case? I thought it just created one samples folder for all projects.

Since it does at least name the samples folder with the project name, the trick VinnieTreux suggested of dragging the project file to the samples folder works. I thought it might throw up a missing samples dialog but it did not. I still wish it had the option to put it all in it's own folder but it is not the issue I thought it was.
