Why I wont buy Native Instruments..

Well, NI has not made such a statement, but Maschine 2 is here already 5 or more years and users get free updates and support. I bought Cubase year ago, and sice than there have been two paid upgrades... Similar with Ableton - paid upgrade every 2 years, or so...

So, Maschine 2 is somewhere in between FL Studio and Cubase.... FL Studio for free forever may work only when new users come. Someone has to pay the development..... What happens, when user base of FL Studio stops growing? How will they pay the development?

 

Idk. Theyve done it for 20 years and somehow able to find money to innovate FL consistently. This is most likely due to Image line focusing strictly on one product. They also have plugins that bring in revenue on the side. Or you can purchase the bundle for $900 i just picked mine up for blackfriday.

The issue i see with maschine is they are focusing more on hardware and probably got the mindset that maschine software just needs to work so we can sell our Hardwares.

Another thing that NI is loosing ground on is FL can now be added to Any DawnAs a vst effectively replacing maschine. And now they have the akai Fire FL edition controller. It still lacks in compairison to Maschines hardware. But they are not far behind...

 

Ive dabbled in open source programming for blender and with 10 or so programmers they took blender 3d software from a joke in the industry to a number one contender within 5 years. Imagine what a well oiled company can do with maschine. They can bring maschine up to par with FLStudio. But they are falling way behind.

Pretty much only thing NI needs is a daw
And Maschine would most likeltly be the first step in the right direction to fill that space in their arsenal.

 

Do they even have that many people?

Ok I got it! NI's develops its own Daw, plugins that are NI DAW exclusive, Maschine is the piano roll and Kontakt is the Library. Force everyone to use your DAW! Then charge $400 a month! Mwhahahaha!

Until they don't work, let's just hope when you have an issue yourself Somone don't just put "don't care, my gear works fine"

 

Feel free to be a troll here. I have gotten great support here from others and from N.I. and from third parties selling add-on packs. If you bother to read the original post, the OP was basically coming here to say "I'll never buy your crummy products again because it won't do what I want it to do, vs what it was designed and sold to do." My response was, "don't care." Don't need to read why somebody is leaving the fold and just wants to rant here because nobody else to rant to. ASKING for support in the forum is expected. Ranting about how a company sucks because it won't do things a certain way and 'leaving' is not helpful to anybody.

So, your post added nothing to the discussion, or anything at all. In future, you will find more support and friends by posting a request for help, or helping somebody who is stuck, if you are yourself unstuck.

If the OP had asked for help, and specified what had been done, had shown what was proven to not work, had shown steps taken with support, I would have tried to help (( I DO NOT WORK HERE, JUST MIDI DINOSAUR SINCE EARLY 80S AND EARLY NI ADOPTER )). I am annoyed by the "I hate your coffee because you won't accept my holiday coupon, I'll never buy your coffee again." Don't care. Move along.
