Why is it, in the US mojority of the DJ's use Serato

I already answered the question very early on in this thread from the standpoint of a old school (i'm now 36) NY DJ's standpoint.
1. It was the first (perceived) reliable DVS platform.
2. It was very simple and wasn't a big departure from traditional vinyl.
3. It was adopted by enough DJs to create a critical mass..

There is a very big DJ website outthere who sells N.I. products, you know what I'm talking about, are you gonna screen them too?
I think you're a bit overreacting, your approach does not get any award.
Like i said, pm or contacted me an I would edit it out, I thougt it was old news.
There was other information in the post which might be useful to other people, but now it's gone.

 

Posts that are awaiting moderator approval are not stopped by a moderator, they are stopped by the forum software, so there is no way for us to "contact you first". When a moderator comes across such post we can then decided what to do about it. This forum gets a massive amount of spam, a lot of it gets deleted by the forum software itself but if the software is not sure it leaves the post but flags it as awaiting moderator approval until a moderator can look it over. It also looks for abusive language etc and flags that until a moderator can get a chance.

If we come across a post that has other issues like against forum rules etc we will certainly let you know what the issue is so it can be rectified.

Like you said, a moderator can choose what to do with a post that has a flag.
I maybe shouldn't have posted about ****, did not really thought about it, was more about busy explaining differences in sound but I found her message very childish.
That's the way I feel., there are people with legit versions you know.

 

moderators remove content that are violating the forum rules, that has nothing to do with "censoring".

Like I said, I found a way to let my Sixty Two work with TSP, wich is a legal copy.
I did not share how to do it tho, and I really don't see the problem if I modify software that I legally bought to let it function with my mixer, just for own use.

Maybe I shouldn't mentioned it but I did but this was not my intention.
From a moderator's view I understand, and I have no problem with it, but that is not the point here.
Point is why do you want to know if I'am a legal customer.(which I am)
Are non N.I. customers not allowed anymore on the forum?
I did nothing wrong, nor was I selling, explaining or distributing something.
So I don't understand why this is so important for you, and why you are screening me.

The problem is that it is illegal to do so. You are expressly forbidden to do so by the EULA.

Yes they are but people who are using cracked versions of traktor aren't. Moderator's are well within our rights to request proof that you are using a legitimate version and to suspend your posts if you fail to do so.

 

Yes, but by saying I use a non N.I. card you people are automatically assuming that I use a cracked version, that's the attitude I don't like.

I think I did it when you guys on the the other-side of the world were in bed.
Proof that we got both hemisphered covered

 

Serato + SL1 was cheaper than Traktor Scratch + Audio 8

Serato + SL1 could run on a lot of pc´s for many years, without the need of upgrading
When Traktor Scratch came out, most people probaly bought new pc aswell as traktor was more resource hungry than serato

 

I think that depends where you're located.
Everything Traktor was and is cheaper where I live and I think in most places in Europe.

 

nay... i have been running my traktor scratch on really low-spec computers...

i think with ssl the "hurdle" was lower for some ppl to do the change from analog to digital. ssl just did what your records did while traktor was always a bit more sophisticated and wanted to be "more" than just that.

plus, ssl always advertised directly the hiphop DJs while traktor was always kinda connected to the EDM DJs (IMHO for no apparent reason... the creative hiphop DJs always have seen the traktor potential).
