Why is it so hard for me to get my Native Instruments to work!?!

Ok. I purchased Komplete 12 installed everything to my computer got things working. Now I got an external drive and tried to relocate it there and now nothing works. I checked the path(s) and everything looks good in my eyes but I still get the message “product/path can not be found”. Ok, so I decided to start over again and re-install everything back to my computer. After about 8 hours I come back and I’m having the same problem!

I’ve seen videos, I’ve read similar post, but why can’t I get my NI stuff to work?? I paid a lot of money and I’m spending hours trying to get the sounds I purchased (Komplete 12) to be used with my MK3! I’ve re-installed, relocated and prayed to get my sounds to be “found” by maschine and every time I get the same result. What gives? What the heck am I doing wrong here?

This is such a headache as I’m very new to Native instruments. There’s something going on under the hood and it’s killing me to why it’s not working. I went with Narive to be creative not to be a computer programmer!

I relocated in Native Access, I went to Mashine's preferences and rescanned everything in the library just now, and i'm still getting the "error - Kontakt could not be loaded" message. Anyways ... I'm going to go ahead and try reinstalling Mashine and then go from there. I really want all my stuff on my external HD asap, so hopefully once I get things going and understand what's going on then I'll do so. I'm curious though, once I finally get these squared away, and I want to relocate to my external HD I should only move the Shared folder?

I also added attachments just to show what my native access and Mashine's preference windows are looking like-not sure if this will have help or not.

Yes only move the shared folder, anything in the application support folder should stay on the main drive , which I think is in the OS X library , that’s how I see it , and have mine setup , they don’t take much space .
The shared folder uses the most space .

 

Right so the paths you set in native access is where it installs things
The paths in maschine is where maschine looks for content.

 

Also if you ever want to move from one external to another, just make sure you name the drives the same name then you won’t have to relocate it .
I don’t think that works going from the main drive to a external

 

Correct that is my main drive (Untitled).

Attached is the users shared folder and the applications folder that is on the main hard drive.

Just an update I reinstalled maschine however it didn't recgonize my stuff. However I was able to hear the preview, but once I tried to load it I got the error message(s). I'm rescanning machine library again just because ...?

 

So in the maschine preferences/ library, double click on a path for the first shared library location you come to , then locate it , you might get “ this path is already in use “ so set it to something else like one folder back then double click on path again and set it to the original path you just replaced, if that makes sense, maybe do an expansion first then rescan to see if you can see that expansion
If that works then I would move the shared folder to the external and then relocate everything with the path shared to the external location
Otherwise your gonna set it up on the internal then your have to redo it to all again for the external

 

Yeah sorry that doesn't make much sense to me as I'm trying to do just that but I keep getting the "duplicate location" message. Also how do I do an expansion?

 

Yeah I don't know what's going on still. I'm trying to rename the shared folder and it won't let me. I made another folder next to shared as Shared 1 and when I go into machine's preference library and try to relocate but I still get the same duplicate message.

I'm going to have to try again tomorrow. This is ridiculous that I can't get this to work. I will update tomorrow when I give my brain some rest.

Ok so i'm in the process of moving my shared folder to my external hard drive now. Once (hopefully sooner than later) it all gets copied over i'll go ahead and check/edit the paths in mashine,

 

Ok. So I moved all the files in my shared folder on my computers HD to my external HD. Then I set Native Access to reflect my folders locations and relocated everything.
When everything was finished I tried selecting an instrument from my MK3 controller and now it says “could not load or product could not load”.

 

Yeah rescanned the library before trying anything.

Ok here is my Machine Library list that I have as of right now.

 

Also I took some screen shots of my files in finder. I'm a bit confused with these folder tbh, because I have files still on my HD (I renamed to untitled). For instance I have a whole bunch of native stuff in Users - Home- Documents. I don't know if I need this here, which could be causing a problem or to delete it.

I can open up the stand alone's and it's funny because I checked Absynth and here is the screen shot of that. I don't know if that should be going to my external cause it's not.
