Ok, so I just scanned the VST folder, and tried opening a few sounds in Massive on my MK3 and it worked! I still haven't really played around with it, but I think we might be good now!

I seriously owe you a coffee, or a beer! I feel like I can sleep peacefully now o_O

Not sure how this all came about, and really understand what happened. I remember we checked the path way for the plugins in Machine, but the folder was on components I believe. I didn't even think of the VST folder.

How do you set which plugin type you want to install in native access
    Vst / au or both
I know you can do it in the Installer from disk but can’t see a way in access

When I updated to 2.8 when it came out , none of my presets would load kept hanging with the beach ball and I had to force quit
Noticed it had added a path to my plugin location

And it just happened again when I updated to 2.8.2

Before you use them as vst start it as standalone and set the performances like pathes, audio card midi and audio. Rebuild the data bases.
If all is finished you can use vst's in daw or Maschine. That's important for all NI products. Don't forget Reaktor and Kontakt.

That's why I asked if you somehow disabled the option to install VST's, you only had AU... Never saw that before. The explanation would be Maschine always loads VST's by default, so if it isn't in your paths, instruments will fail to load.
As far as I know, there's no way, that's why this thread was kind of confusing. Maybe when you first install things it asks then never asks again?
Or, if you run a standalone installer you have the option and NA will use that option by default? Not sure.

    AL’DREAD or D-One

I just picked up the Micro MK3, and I’ll be using it on my lap top now. Now that I have all the content on my external HD what do I need to do so on my lap top to get everything to work? I would imagine that I shouldn’t have to re download all those sounds again, and that I should be able to just plug in my External and start working? Or do I need to reinstall anything like the apps, and if so how do I know which ones are app and which ones are not?

Ok , in native Access set your library path to external , plug it in
And up the top right of native Access you should see a circular arrow for refresh, hit that and see what happens
Are they both Mac’s? On same os , You could time maschine the first Mac and copy to second ,with migration assistant

On your external is your library’s and expansions if setting The paths in native Access and refresh works
all you need to install are the apps native Access should tell you what needs installing in the ,not installed tab (top left)
    it will be as follows
    Maschine app
    Kontakt app
    Reaktor app
    Absynth app
    Fm8 app
    Battery app
    Guitar rig app
    And some fx apps

I refreshed my native access after changing the content path to my external and it still shows everything (about 64 things) no installed.
