why is kontakt somethimes crashing with giga import

i am new with kontakt v1.2 and i am running it under windows xp pro
en when i loading(ore import)some giga files he gives me some error messeage and shutdown kontakt it is not every time that it crashes!!!
i have a p4 2.5 ghz and one gig memory,so that kan not be the problem

who can help this newbie with this problem,maby it is a setting ore something

 

I'm assuming that with giga files you mean Gigastudio/sampler files? If not, forget what I wrote below...

I think that Kontakt crashes during gigastudio import are dependent on what you're trying to import. Kontakt crashes for instance when I try to import any of the programs of the gigastudio version of Jason Miles' Psychic Horns. As far as I know this is a bug in Kontakt and cannot be prevented by changing settings.

Try to use an external converter such as CDXtract or the Chicken Systems Translator to convert Gigastudio to Kontakt. When I use CDxtract on the Psychic Horns I have no problems in Kontakt anymore.

 

It crashes because kontakt sucks (till NI does not show up with a working update).
Go and buy HAL 2 - which has the best gig-import in the world. (not commercial)

 

Is Halion 2 really that good? Is it a lot more stable and accurate than Kontakt?

thank you for helping me guy's,now i know i am not the only one whit this problem,i have halion 2(original) too and its verry stabile
but kontakt has its special things too(its standalone and easy),but halion 2 is better with import and almost crash free
