    Hi,

first of all, I´d like to say hello to everybody in this forum as I am new here.

I am a Reason User for quite a long time and seeked for some interesting software synthies outside of Reason and finally was quite impressed of the great abilities of Absynth. I downloaded the trial version and it really sounds great !

So, here is my question (maybe this has been asked 1000x before but I did not find a fitting thread *g*) :

Does (or will) Absynth (ever) support the ReWire Interface ?
I really consider buying Absynth but if the only way to use it is setting it up as a VST in Cubase or any other sequencing software that supports VST and ReWire, this would cost me alot of money as I do not own such a sequencing software .....
As far as I know, Reason will never implement a VST interface :-(

    Any facts concerning that ?

    best regards,

    knorki.

No,AFAIK ReWire's not in the future. It wouldn't really make any difference anyways-the only ReWire app that Reason works as a host with is ReBirth.Otherwise,Reason ALWAYS functions as a ReWire slave,
You'll need your other host anyways.

If you're on a low budget you might want to consider something like Tracktion ( www.tracktion.com ) it's about $80 USD and does alot of what the big sequencers like cubase do and is very intuitive and easy to use. Well worth it.

But if you're on PC I would spend $20 more and get FLStudio which absolutely blows reason out of the water in terms of flexibility and compatibility. FLStudio is the perfect host for the Native instruments stuff and it amounts to having reason but with the ability to host whatever plug-ins you like - vst, vsti,dx,dxi plus loads of it's own really cool stuff, and it's free upgrades for life.

I only use reason to play old tracks I did 2 years ago now, I just find it way too limiting, FLStudio + NI can do everything it does but a thousand times better, and with Ableton Live as well it's just awesome (although I also use the Waves and Antares Plugs too which are quite expensive but Pro quality and worth every bit)

    Thnx !

Thank you very much for your help.
You are right. Reason is somehow limited as you can only use the "embedded" instruments and effect gear. The only way to have new
sounds is to use samples and this suxx as you can not really modify
the sounds, like filter sweeps etc. :-(

I tried the FL Trial version some weeks ago and could not really find
it useful. Hmm, maybe I should have a closer look at it :)

Is there a useful "FL First Steps" tutorial available on the web ?

    best regards,
    knorki.
