Ok, so here is the problem, I don't know if I should update or not, I have the second lastest update and everything works grand for me, I mix on my CDJs and choose my music from my laptop!

I have my music EXTREAMILY neat on my laptop, which took a long time editing the name of each track, editing the genre and comments. When I updated last time I lost all this information, so I am scared if I update again I will loose all this info,

I edit all my tracks, then I save, then I apply, then I async
I also save my settings in traktor!

I DJ on radio in clubs, and I am scared that If I update it might screw things up,

Can anyone gurantee, or suggest how my edited songs (tags, cue points) won't be lost?

What are the benifits of the new update.

    Thank You

I don't think anyone can guarantee that you won't lose the collection.nml file or that nothing will happen to your collection, but if you back-up both it won't matter if something goes wacky because you can move the collection and collection.nml file from your back-up to your shiny new 1.2.1 and all should be golden.

Yeah if you back up your collection and your music then you'll be OK in case of failure.

Backup is not really a solution for everything.
I have the issue since januari (or earlier) that traktor pro overwrites all my tracknumbers and sets them to 0 (or nothing). The problem is reported but still not solved.
It took a while before I noticed that and when I did it was already to late, all my (2) backups where already overwritten with this.
I managed to recuperate about half my collection track numbers but the rest is gone forever. The tracks ares till playing fine, but I lost track numbers.

Problems are not always prominent present and altough I'm very alert for making regular backups it is very hard to make more than 1 or 2 backups of a music collection of +/- 500GB. It is even harder to recuperate from a backup thats several weeks or months old. If you are as neat as M_Audio_vst and like me. recuperating from a backup automaticly means loss of data....

I have several backups. All downloaded music goes to my PC and stays there in it's "virgin form." Then I copy it onto my MBP and it gets Traktorfied (Analysed and Gridded.) That folder gets backed up to an external drive and later mirrored to my back up Traktor PC collection. 4 instances of my music on 3 computers and 1 external hard drive. Hard to go wrong, but not impossible.

Well thats where it went wrong, I synced my "master orignial" with my external disc that I use to DJ. I tought this was a good thing to do, because that way the Traktor data is kept in the file.
I did this because I noticed issues with traktor when I re-echo'd my virgin files to traktor. Skipping phase meters, wrong BPM etc. Cause I was tired of reanalyzing all my files (wich takes more than 24 hours).
I trusted TPro, but that trust was wrong. Traktor overwrite my track numbers (and what else?) and therefor my master collection is corrupted.

I reported this issue back in Januari (together with the issue that Tpro is not reading all tags from wma files) and it still not solved. They dont seem to find that an important issue.
I would rather believe that a bug thats corrupts someones sound files is a TOP PRIORITY and should be resolved inmediatly.
