Saving money is good, but I don't think NI will ever add large screens to the Mikro at least not in the foreseeable future... Save up and get a full MK3 as even if they do, features will be limited like they are now

Their (AKAI, NI) geographic location means they should make the same form-factor devices?

I would definitely recommend saving for the MK3. It is purpose-built, as is the Mikro, and it uses the space it occupies in your studio very efficiently. I don't have a huge space myself, and I've got a couple small children, and I find the full MK3 fits in on my desktop.

I doubt NI will alter their design philosophy by way of making the mikro more like the MK3, or by making the MK3 more like the mikro, any time soon. Do you use any stands or organizers?

Not a chance. The Mikro MK3 is the newest Maschine, released last year, if not the year before that. The MK2 had a screen that they got rid of, or replaced with what they have now. This was intentional. It keeps the Mikro mk3 Cheap and affordable but still makes the bigger controller necessary and not redundant. The MPC Live is smaller than, lets say the MPC Studio and Maschine Studio, but it does not fit in a standard backpack so it's not "small" nor is the "MPC One" and both of those units are Fully/semi Standalone devices.

by your logic, they should make the Mikro MK3 Standalone and thats probably never going to happen.
