I have a brand new Mac laptop Macbook, that is a 2Ghz duo core 2 computer maxed out at 2 Gigs of RAM. Now... will the AP work as it is in my computer or do I need to wait for the update and when will that happen? It says here in December.... I guess late December? :)

Should I be able to use the 24 bit samples loaded to a sepperate 7200rpm drive and can it be partitioned into 2 halves without causing problems? All the AP would be on one partition of course.

What programs will it work in NOW? How about as a stand alone?

I have a Yamaha KX88. What CC# are for the pedals and are they different then the keyboard's? What would be the best Midi interface in your opinion? M-Box or M-audio or Yamaha, least delay?...

Thanks in advance for all the advice.

One more question... if my external drive is both a USB as well as Firewire 400, which connection is better to use? I know that my macbook not being the macbook pro does not have the Firewire 800 and I am not happy that I did not think of that when I bought it, but... it should still be hopefuly fast enough I think.

Again, thanks for all your ideas and thoughts on the above matters. I will look forward to reading them all.

I know you've waited awhile for your answer. But until I had the UB update, I wasn't sure either.

I'm running a MacBook Pro 2.13 Core Duo Intel with 2GB RAM. I previously ran the last model of the PowerBook line (1.67 G4 with 1GB RAM). I ran AP with the samples on an external 7200 RPM Firewire 800 drive. On the G4, it ran poorly even when using ECO mode. Even on my G5, it was borderline for my playing style.

Along comes the UB update and all I can say is WOW! The AP hardly uses half of my CPU processing power, even if that much. No crackles, not dropped notes. I'm very pleased. You should have no problems based on what you indicate of your setup.

While I've been impatient waiting for this release, I can tell you now that I'm happy with the program now. Thanks NI!

Now if we can just get EastWest to release a UB for the Silver Orchestra. Looks like I'll have to find the $270 for Kontakt 2 before that happens. Wishful thinking.
