First off thanks for imaschine. i love this app and use it a ton. Bought almost all the soundpacks. I would love to see an update to make this app universal for my ipad. Any kind of update would be appreciated at this point. It needs a little something imo to push this over the edge into AAA app league.

I hope they update it. I would love to use it more... especially to chop samples and have start/end edit points. It would help me be so much more creative cuz many times, things hit me while laying in bed and I want to do it then... not get up, fire up Maschine, bang on pads that wake my kids and wife up, blah, blah, blah.

They need to show iMaschine the same love they showed Traktor. I'd even pay $20 for it.

Would like to see iMaschine and TraktorDJ work together at the same time like Novation did with its synth and LaunchPad apps :D

    Ideas,requests,

    Sound edit- decay, trimming, reverse
Edit pads mode- edit button, then hold down pad and drag to move
    Sample slicing
    Midi
    Background audio
    Audiobus
Xy Accelerometor control- effects(possibly?like when holding a note, pad)

    opinions on these? other additions?

If NI were to add all of those basic features to iMaschine they fear that it would cut into their Maschine hardware sales. That is the primary reason they did not add core midi, which is a basic feature of nearly every other music app. Core midi would have made it possible to combine iMaschine with a portable controller such as a Korg Nanopad or Quneo and have a portable setup that rivals the Mikro. The double irony is that the same setup is easily obtained by using Intua's brilliant Beatmaker 2 app. and despite the powerful capabilities it is not nearly as powerful as the Maschine/Komplete combination. NI could easily embrace the IOS music momentum by enhancing iMaschine, expanding the connections between it and the desktop Maschine software (import as well as export) and thereby enhancing the Maschine brand rather than alienating it. They have the opportunity while Akai is blundering the iMPC app. by not adding Audiobus, but that window of opportunity could close at any moment. Akai just came out with iMPC for IPhone that already in ver.1 has many of the features you mentioned. If they update the Ipad version with Audiobus it will be a wrap.

The new Traktor hardware connects to iOs devices!!!?!??

That's 2 new "upgrades" to the DJ suite within a year and STILL no love for iMaschine.

I think we are pretty much looking at all were gonna get from NI when it comes to iMaschine.

Ah well, there's still NanoStudio and Beatmaker2.

Yeah, BM2 and NanoStudio have all bases covered. Ironically, I read comments on the Traktor forums that indicate that Aloriddim Djay is still a lot better than the Traktor app. I guess NI is too new to the IOS development scene. They need to invest in additional software engineers to produce quality apps. It may not be their bread and butter market, but their reputation suffers when subpar apps. are released.

Looks like Retronyms is about to finally add Audiobus and InterAppAudio to their Tabletop and iMPC apps:

Does the launch of Mascjhine 2.0 mean that we should expect a new version of iMaschine??

    Hopefully a iPad version??

I'd love an update that would add:

    - Step sequencer / editor (ideally 64 steps)
    - Basic sound editing capabilities (start/end, reverse, decay etc)
    - Sample slice mode, loop to hits (ala Recycle)

As it is, I've used it about 10 times in the year I've had it due to my poor timing. If it had the ability to edit your timing via a (64) step sequencer/editor I would love it to bits and use it regularly.

I get that NI is scared of cannibalisation, but come on, this is basic functionality.

    There is no cannibalisation .....
Evenso, the raising off the app price could well cover for any marginal losses by people who are actually using a new balanced version of Imaschine and didn't buy a Mikro.

People that buy either a Maschine MK2 or Studio will buy it anyways, regardless of any NI apps.
Besides, ANYBODY who has actually used a Maschine knows quite well that an app could NEVER EVER replace the controller and software.
It can compliment it at best and that should be the function of an app.

Just like ANY app on a mobile device it compliments the regular old fashion programs, for instance browsing.
Sure it's doable on a phone and can be done reasonably good on a tablet but it is no match for browsing on a desktop or Laptop computer.
Same goes to photoediting software, mail applications, and so on .....

I think it would be cool to bring around the drum synth from the new 2.0.

Sometimes when my musical creations are not at their peak, I wouldnt mind customizing a drum sound on the go you know?
