Will there be another B3 update before we see version 4?

Folks,

B3 still very unstable for me (crashes etc). Also, the replace sample feature is a big loss for me also. Does anyone know if there will there be another B3 update before we see version 4? I suspect the last update took a little pressure off N.I but B3 is still not the program I thought it would be on the box.

 

I hope so. I am feeling very dissapointed at the moment. I found about 5 bugs in the first 5 minutes of playing. As they are all browser related I thought i could cope - but just found another bug that is annoying me so much i feel i STILL can't use this software . so it's back to B2 for me... till the next update at least.

not sure where to post my bug discoveries. I'll mention them here incase anybody can recommend fixes - or maybe i just need to flush my preference files / change an option etc?

1) browser - can not put files in order of Date Modified. It appears to work but when I look through all the dates are all over the place. (i am on logic on Mac)

2) browser - double clicking a file or draging it into the matrix adds a LAYER, how can I make it replace the entire cell? I should not have to have to manually delete each time. Is there an option or modifier key for this? Why remove 'replace cell' what logic is behind that? (maybe this isn't a bug , but it's still a stupid design issue that CAN easily be fixed)

3) Browser - i remove some items from my favourites useing "delete from favourites" and as soon as I press 'browser refresh' they all come back again! aghhh

4) No way to audition .cl3 files. Is NI crazy or just plain spiteful ?

5) When deleting a cell, it messes up the output routing of the first cell! for instance I have a kick assigned to output 1&2 in cell A1, and a snare assigned to output 3&4 on cell A2, and then I delete A2 - the routing for A1 changes to match what was in A2 (3*4)! ! ! After finding this bug I decided this program was to risky for me to use - I can't afford routings randomly reconfiguring themselves.

The above was noticed after playing with Battery 3 for MINUTES. I just can't understand how NI can let it happen, are do they not test their software?

Appoligies if I have posted my bugs in the wrong place. And if it's a case of 'user error' please do let me know - i hope it is!

1: I also have the cell output re-routing itself. Kick sample in Cell C1 always resets to Master out.

2: I get crashes in SONAR 5.2/6.2 Can happen anytime and usually occurs when I try and use a feature or parameter that I haven't used in a long time within an opened project (such as hitting nxt on a sample cell or copying/moving a cell)


Basically I have to do reboots to keep working. Shame shame. Very disapionted. Great potential not executed as they should have done. (sent to tech support)

Hmm, I've been trying to reproduce this for a while now, and it's not happening for me. No matter what I assign where, the assignments seem to hold no matter what I delete or replace.

I'm on XP in Reaper, btw.

Does it seem to happen randomly, or every time?

Thanks for the write up! I am having these same problems. I can not preview most of my samples from the browser. This is where producing begins. It start by auditioning samples and I can't hear most of them. I feel really sad right now

About previewing from the browser:

Are you guys only trying to preview built-in Library sounds, or any sounds at all? Because I don't have the Library installed, since I only work with my own samples. But all my samples, Acid loops and REX loops preview perfectly in the browser.

The only problem I've had is with Acid one-shots, for some reason B3 tries to sync to them or something and it crashes. Acid loops work fine though.

 

Single Shots

My problems are with single shots. Many samples are not heard.

jamester , i was only referring to the .cl3 files, it seems to preview normal samples fine. Although not being able to put them into date order is a massive pain for me.

Al - sorry to hear this, as I said I personally haven't had this happen (yet?).

Askewd - yeah, not being able to preview the built-in library sounds is a terrible flaw. That should get rectified!

 

Please go to the support form page and post your bug reports to NI.
The bugs wont be seen by NI here.

I have posted mine to NI and also got replies.

 

Does anyone else have a problem with the first modulation slider being set to 100.00 as a deafult? I'm trying to get to the bottom of this.

 

It's always on 100 by default because it routes velocity to volume but if you mean default by double clicking on the slider, mine jumps to 0.

 

Can anyone answer this question? Will there defo be an update before B4?

I (like many) will not consider buying it if B3 is left as is....
