WINDOWS 10 installs - iLock installs of SONIVOX/AIR software

    Hi, Not much of a musician but am an IT wizard, who recently purchased a new PC.
    Native Access installed everything beautifully.
    I have a few other VSTs from SONIVOX which uses iLock/PACE security..... on installing these Windows bluescreened!
    Managed to get to Recovery and System restored back to a working system.

    On investigating (and big thanks to Protools user "UltimateByte") I can confirm :

    1. Microsoft has removed the Interactive Services Detection Service on Windows 10 Version 1803. (Oct 2018) - so any NEW build using post 1803 will have this issue.
    2. This is because Tpkd.sys doesn't work with newer builds of Windows, and is no longer available, but will remain in old builds that have been updated.
    3 . The PACE(ilok) License Services service is marked as an interactive service. However, the NEW BUILD system is configured to not allow interactive services so this service will not function properly.
    4. ON restart you will get a bluescreen/windows stop error - Windows repair will allow you to use System Restore to recover.

    I have tested this several times - the report from last system restore is attached.

    Until ILock or Sonivox respond to this there is no known solution.

    Just an update to confirm that AIR/Sonivox have confirmed this is a now issue and PluginBoutique have now removed all windows downloads options from their website - so please dont try to install.

    Easy fix to this is to install the latest version of iLok software direct from the site FIRST

    https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager

    Then install whatever VST you need, cancel the ilok installer that comes with an instrument because like most things that include a bundle of a dependant software, they can become outdated. I have close to 200 plugins/libraries managed via iLok including all Air Music, Sonivox, UVI... No issues as long as you follow this highly recommended step.

    ...... iLok have confirmed there is an issue. PluginBoutique no longer allow downloads of the affected products. Your solution may or may not work but maybe someone else with a clean Win10 build can test it. I lost several days over this over wont be, not worth wasting time over.

    There is/has been an issue with old versions of ilok for years, if you search PluginBoutique you can still purchase Air and Sonivox. I have assisted a few users now just suggesting to install the ilok from the website and not from the included instrument installer and it works fine. Issue is in the old installers, no issue with current ilok version or these instruments.
