    Hi,

I am considering buying an Audio Kontrol 1 as my first USB music interface, and I spent several hours reading this forum about windows 7 64 bits compatibility, because it is the OS I have.

First off all, I noticed that key questions about W7 64 bits compatibility have not been answered by Native Instruments guys and a lot of people are getting involved in a thread with a no real solution.

I would like to ask to NI guys if the NI AK1 is officialy supported on Windows 7 64 bits and if there is a native driver for Windows 7 64 bits, not a vista64/x64 workarrounded driver, which I believe is the one you have.

I would like to have an official answered to this problem and, if the drivers are no native w7 64 bits drivers, I would like to know if they are already on road map.

    Regards,
    Ariel Brunetto

I need a new audio interface as well and want to buy an Audio Kontrol 1. I also use Win7 64 bit and want solid and easy to use drivers. Do they exist or not? Please answer NI if you want me to buy your product.

    Hi ew,

Sorry, but the link don't answer my question. The link talks about NI products in general, mostly software products, not hardware drivers. I would like to know if the Audio Kontrol 1 driver is natively supported on Windows 7 64 bits edition. I dont care about the software, I am talking about the hardware driver. I would like to avoid a sound card with sound clips and glitches on W7 64 bits due to a non fully supported driver. I would lie to buy the hardware today from the local distributor and I would like to know if it will have any problems running on my platform.

    Thank you very much,
    Ariel

To install Audio kontrol 1 for Win 7 -64 try following steps:
    - Install the driver and connect the device
    - Normally, the system does not determine the card itself and gives an error
    - So go to Devices Manager and find an Unknown device
    - Run the update driver and choose the search for a driver on this computer
    - Specify the drive C (where the Windows installed)
    - Everything must be OK
    - Do the same steps (as above) for following another Unknown device

Thank you so much! This helped me fixing the driver problem on my Dell Studio, Intel Core i7 Q720 with Windows 7 64 bit.
